Please help. I have an old PC with a Samsung Harappa-12 motherboard. Today, while plugging in my mouse, I mistakenly plugged in a 320 volt AC charger into the mouse port. I got a vague burning smell, though when I removed the case there was no smoke and no components looked fried or were heated.
When I turned the machine on, it began giving out a series of non-stop short beeps. The RAM works; the samsung logo appears on the screen, and when the hard drive is connected it boots to windows and sticks there. VGA is onboard, an 845 chipset, and it works. When the hard drive is disconnected, it says "Operating System not found", as per usual. Please help. I have no idea what to identify the faulty component.
