  1. aspire 7520 vista home premium 1gb ddr2 80gb hdd amd athlon 64x2 pc will not boot up i did get it to boot 2 days ago by alt+ctrl+del then pressing f8 but this method does not work now the memory is very low so when i did manage to boot up i attempted to regain some memory by cleaning up the disc,i have also tried defrag and following on screen directions i have also run check disc, each of these operations have started ok but eventually the pc shuts down before completion.i had thought of system restore but there is not enough memory left plus when i viewed it there were no restore points just to add to the tale of woe there is no sound on the pc and there are no components listed for audio in device manager is it worth bothering or should i just bin the unit thanks

  4. thanks ken one of the first things i did was to try a friends computer i still couldnt log in. i have contacted windows live help again to see if they can resolve the issue, incidently i received an email from live help asking me to respond to their survey regarding my problem in which they asked if the link they sent me via email solved my problem as i never received any such email i dont expect any joy with my new request. if i have no luck this time it is my intention to delete all the hotmail links from my computer. but i would like to thank you very much for the considerable effort you have put into attempting to solve the issue
  5. # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one # space. # # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself. # 127.0.0.1 localhost # ::1 localhost sorry about the delay
  6. hello the only difference is that above127.0.0.1 is typed localhost name resolution is handled within dns itself
