Update: Got through to BT Wifi team who sorted out the problem, it had to do with Mybt login (user name ) had to change it to an email address keeping the old password, then proceeded to delete and download the BTWifi App and Install Connection Profile, now able to get the BTWifi-X.:) The lady I spoke to at the BT Wifi Team, mention when going through my Ipad (she had the same one as me ) that I was Not Connected in VPN, but forgot to ask her about it after she had sorted out the Wifi-X problem. What is 'VPN' and am I safe using Wifi. I have Bt Broadband with McAfee security how secure is my Ipad when out and about using Wifi, I’m only likely to be using the Ipad when on holiday to check and make emails and to use Facetime to keep in touch with family.

Thanks again Seedy21, did come across that one in my search for info, have now found this one: At last the saga is over! Despite more incorrect information from the BT Wifi Help advisors, I found one who (a) believed me and (b) was prepared to take further advice. She came back eventually with the solution and, of course, I should have paid more attention to "vofsanity2" in his posts 27 and 35. The problem came down to "profiles" after all the other issues had been sorted by BT. What was not clear to me was the distinction between "Connection Profiles" in the BT Wifi App and "Profiles" in the MyBT website! For the benefit of others, here is what you have to do to connect an iPad to BTWiifi-X, the WPA2 secure network at a BT Hotspot; subject to any correction by "vofsanity2" who seems to be the real expert. It may also aply to an iPhone but I do not have one. Download the BTWifi App Open the App Click on the 3 dots at the top right Click on Settings Click on Install Connection Profile Insert your settings After this, and using your BT Username and associated password, you should be able to connect to a BTWifi-X secure network by going to "Settings-Wifi-available networks" and clicking on BTWifi-X if it is available. Hope this helps others prevent my recent frustrations! Have tried this and still getting nowhere, it still wants a password that I do not have, ( my BT password did not work )

Me again.:( I’m with BT, and have downloaded the BTWifi app to the apple mini ipad ( I do not have an Iphone ) It now gives me the option for my home BThub as well as BTWifi-with-FON along with BTWifi-X. All my searches including BT.com have not come up with an answer to what ‘BTWifi-X’ is all about, if I click on BTWifi-X I get ‘Enter the password for BTWifi-X’ which I do not know. Both FON and X offer ‘BT Wi-fi hotspots’, anyone know what the difference. Thanks in anticipation.

I bought an apple mini 2 Ipad, from the beginning I had problems setting up ( my thought, not very good at remembering passwords,) though I have it working, it when it comes to passwords, I have problem with (because when setting I had to keep changing my pass word, not enough letters, must have a upper case, needs numbers……). Question, 1/ can I reset the Ipad to shipment conditions and start again now that I have someone to help me set up. 2/ it comes with 5gb of cloud, which is all I need, but keep getting messages to sign up to cloud, can this be stopped.

Have now checked what you said and all is as should be (send picture with messages. checked),before seeing your reply, I sent email with the jpeg that was giving me problem and that went through OK:confused:, seams to be working, could system have reset in self?. I did think about Security, Download Images and ‘un-checking’ (Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail) but decided to leave alone, not knowing what might happen if I did. Thanks for your help:) -

Update, can send email with BMP + jpeg attachment OK but jpeg only will not go through, though it's the same jpeg that will go through with the BMP attachment -
Hope you don’t mind me jumping in on this, since 12/06/2015, all my emails I send with a jpeg attachment do not go , though they show that they went to the sent folder. Sending emails with Text only, BMP attachment, PDF attachment all go through as normal, the jpeg files are all small files and only started being a problem since Friday, I have re set the computer using System Recovery to 11/06/2015 and has made no difference, any help please.Windows XP, bt internet, outlook express 6.

No…. I did have whilst BT check McAfee ( BT added the Avast ) and I added the extra RAM, then BT through GTA removed the Avast and re-installed the McAfee (that was when the “ATT Yahoo ) showed up. -

Funny enough, whilst BT were looking into the McAfee issue, they set up Avast, which worked much quicker, BT said it was because it was a free one and to have the full package would be just as slow. Not being tech minded I go by what they said, until one of you prove they were bull sh***** me.
