My graphic card is Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M and I've got a control panel for it downloaded and my system says the driver is up to date.

I've done that, also. I've also tried uninstalling the driver for the laptop monitor so that the external is the only one the computer recognises, but that didn't work either.

I try this as the computer loads and it won't allow me to view anything on the external monitor until Windows boots, so I'm unable to get into BIOS. I've tried putting the settings at mirrored display and explay on the external only, but neither work.

Hi! I have an HP laptop and the screen has gone kaput on it, so I'm using an external monitor. I'm unable to get into BIOS or the system restore because the external only kicks on once Windows has started. I've tried using the function+F4 button to switch to it, but it doesn't work. I've also tried uninstalling the laptop monitor driver and setting the external as the main display, but it isn't working either. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much! RoxAnne
