Hi all, hope some 1 can help me out with a problem,first i would like to say its a dell dimension 3ooo comp.I switched on this morning to be greeted with a message that says.:::notice:The primary IDE master hard drive SELF MONITORING SYSTEM has reported that a parameter has exceeded its normal operating range.Dell recommends that you back up your data regularly. A parameter out of range may or may not indicate a potential hard drive problem. Strike the f1 key to continue,f2 to run the setup utility I have not hit any of the keys as yet as im unsure if it will cause n e problems so your help on this matter would be much appreciated
  2. Thanks again for the advice,managed to get connectrion through lan,it seems fixed on that front,im lacking in the intenet explorer,cant seem to get on line,yet lan states i have internet,n e help would be grateful....would like to wish all members a happy xmas

Im back again,donwloaded a software called virtual dj onto my comp.Only problem is when im playing it actions on vdj begin to happen,things like slowing down,stuttering effect,skipping of song.Will it be the software,i scanned it for viruses and no probs,i also have this software on another comp,and that works fine.Could it be comp,,,n e suggestions would be grateful,,,,thanks again alll........lovin this forum
  4. thanks seth,no this int the same comp as the lan default,yes it is built in to the motherboard,thnks again for help,will try suggested comment,will get back with results
  5. thanks for the help,i tried what you said and still the same.ive gone to the lan settings and clicked on details..physical address-00-11-11-27-a8-eb ip address-169.254.225.244 subnet mask-255.255.0.0 i tried to repair but no joy,under network adaptors it says intelĀ® pro/100 ve network connection,hope you can help me,,much apperciated

  7. the music on my comp isnt crisp got like a slight static noise,its not speakers as they r fine,will i need to replace soundcard or can i upgrade it on line, thanks

First of all would like to say hi to all the members, as this is my first post.Havin problems with pc,what happens is i cant connect to internet,it is not the connection as i run my other pc from it,it seems to be my lan connection. It states there is no connection,i tried repairing it then it says doesnt know ip address.ive done all the usual stuff like disable lan,turn modem off,back on,waited 30 secs.Basically my comp isnt registring with the connection.i really hope some 1 can help me,thanks for your time
