  1. Hi Have tried the autoexec.bat and config.sys but the autoexec.bat and the frst to config.sys when i restarted a message came up saying that the file is missing or corrupted for both the autoexec.bat and config.sys. I removed these and tried the other two lines in the config.sys but they when i restarted they came up as unrecognised command.
  2. Hi Bluesplayer Thank you very much for this information, I will give this a try this weekend.
  3. Hi KenB I've had a look at the system.ini but in the [386enh] section there wasn't any EmmExclude or NoEMSDriver. I had a look on the internet and someone said about going into the DOS game properties and into the memory section to alter the EMS memory. I had a look at this and under EMS memory it said: The computer is not configured for expanded memory in MS-DOS sessions. I clicked on the details tab which put up a box saying: Third-party memory-management software has not been configured for expanded memory. Consult the product documentation for instructions on how to enable expanded memory. Would i need bigger memory or is there anything to download or type into the laptop to fix this?
  4. Hi KenB It was definately Expanded Memory, this computer system says it has 495MG of RAM and I've just had a look on aida which says 361MG is free.
  5. It was a "please insert Intel Corporation Disk #1" when the laptop restarted the configurate the system for the graphics, but i had a look on the internet for this and found that the missing file could be skipped without harming the laptop, which is what i did. I managed to get my games working but one of them Litil Divil runs through dos and keeps putting up a message when i try and play it saying "Error not enought Expanded memory Available" is there anything for this?
  6. Hi KenB Just got the graphichs installed and restarted the laptop but the laptop is now asking for an Intel Corporation Installation Disc #1. Is there anything on the intel website that can be used for this?
  7. Thank you so much KenB. I am working with windows 98 as windows 95 once installed gave me a windows protection error that i could not fix so i decided to try windows 98 which has worked well. Thanks again for all of your help and I will let you know how things gor with the graphics.
  8. Hi KenB I've got aida 64 installed and i've had a look. Would the video card be the VGA Graphics Controller? if it is the card is: INTEL 82852GM/GME/GMV/82855GM(E) GMCH - Integrated Graphics Controller [A-2] and aida lists two of these. Is this any help?
  9. Hi KenB Sorry to be a pain again I've now tried and found some other cd's (i.e. infopedia, encarta) and it looks as though they will run be have now found out that have to run in 256 colour and when i went into the display settings i only have a 2 colour and 16. Is there a driver i could purchase or download which will sort this out as it looks as though I may be gatting somewhere. When infopedia was installed and running I could see that the colour was really bad.
  10. Hi Have now got windows 98 running and have installed litil divil but i'm having trouble running the game can anyone explain how to run the game. I get as far as the setup for the sound and keyboard, thats fine but i just cant get onto the game.
  11. Hi KenB Just had a look at the link you gave but the Everest program is unavailable for downloading due to being discontinued. I saw on another thread and someone said ada32, would this be okay? Thank you for all of your help :)
  12. Hi Again Because I have downgraded the laptop to play the old games I used to play, would I be able to install the games now or would it be better to wait until all the drivers are installed?
  13. Hi KenB Just wanted to let you know that i install the sound driver on the toshiba and thankfully the sound has installed and the Unkown PCI Multimedia Audio Device has disappeared leaving only the Ethernet Controller and the PCI Card. Is there anything similar to speccy that i could download onto the toshiba to find out (if there is any) information about the PCI Card?
  14. Hi KenB I tried the LAN driver but i got a message saying that the driver was for windows 2000 or later. I did manage to connect to the internet using a wireless internet card, but i moved onto an ethernet cable instead. I bought and installed a usb sound card which i will try it to see if it works. Are there any drivers i could try for the PCI Card and the PCI Multimedia Audio Device (is this the sound one) for the toshiba?
  15. Hi again KenB I will quickly ask, is it the Lan Driver or the Wireless Lan Driver that the toshiba will need?
