  2. Just received an email saying the following.."We want to give every customer a great upgrade experience, so we’re rolling it out in an organized way to manage high demand and to make sure that the upgrade is right for your device. After July 29, when Windows 10 is ready for your device, it will download in the background. You’ll then get a notification to schedule your upgrade right away or at another time that’s convenient for you." I cancelled my Windows 10 reservation but they are sending emails and making it sound like they are going to download it anyway, whether I want it or not...I'm worried I won't have a choice in the end. :-( Are we being forced in to this and what can we do? Thanks
  3. Apologies if this is in the wrong section...wasn't sure where to post it as I don't know if it's a mobile problem or a windows problem. We've got a Nokia Lumia 530 and have had no problems apart from not being able to view photos sent or received by text message...it says "get media content now"..we click on it and it says "getting media content" but nothing happens...my friend also has the same problem but we are unable to find out why it's happening. We both have used the sim cards before on different phones and have always been able to see picture messaging. Does anyone know what we can try to rectify the problem. Thanks
  4. Thanks for the info, much appreciated. :) Found this when searching... http://www.windowscentral.com/how-remove-get-windows-10-app-pc It explains "How to remove the 'Get Windows 10' app from your PC and cancel your upgrade reservation"...I have followed the instructions but everyday the Windows 10 icon reappears and so does the upgrade KB3035583....is it ok to leave the program installed or does it need to be removed? Thanks.
  5. I received a Windows 10 upgrade notification about the new upgrade and have reserved it but now I'm not sure it's a good idea...can anyone help please. I am running Windows 7 at present and I'm now sure if this is a good thing to upgrade to or not...it says you can cancel but I am having trouble doing so...all help and advice much appreciated. Thanks
  6. AVG free edition has just done an update but now it says "you are not fully protected" "identity protection has been disabled" It says click to fix the problem but no matter how many times I try it doesn't correct it. I have restarted the computer a couple of times but no joy. Help please as I don't know what's happened or how to fix it. Thanks Panic over, it appears to have corrected itself...sorry for the post x
  7. :oOops thanks....won't use it again if it's not recommended...hope I haven't done any damage by using it. I was listening to a gadget guru on London's LBC radio station some time ago (before I found this great forum I might add) and he recommended using CCleaner....said it was the best...you live and learn and thankfully I learn loads from this great site. Thanks x :)
  8. OMG IT WORKS! THANKS EVERYONE! WOOOO!!
  9. Just wondered, is AdwCleaner the same as CCleaner as I've done this and it's still the same. Thanks
  10. :(Have tried both but still no luck....apologies if this is annoying. sorry. :(
  11. Yes I can still use Google Chrome with no problem, it's IE that has the problem it would appear...have tried as you said but still no luck.
  12. Have done as you suggested by still no luck :(...have already installed IE 11 and it has made no difference. When the new window on the Barclays site comes up to show statement it just says "Barclays is not responding"...then it says "recover website" so I click that but it just doesn't make any difference.
  13. When using Google Chrome a smaller window doesn't open, it stays on the bigger window, if you get my drift, not really sure how else to explain it....is there any way of opening it on IE without a new window opening as this seems where the problem lies. All help much appreciated. Thanks
  14. Sorry still no luck....I don't have any problems getting on to the Barclays website, it's when I click on to LOG IN and a smaller window comes up and I put all my details in and press NEXT and then the smaller window freezes and the main statement doesn't load and come up. When using Google Chrome a smaller window doesn't open, it stays on the bigger window, if you get my drift, not really sure how else to explain it....is there any way of opening it on IE without a new window opening as this seems where the problem lies. Thanks
  15. You're not wrong. I was wondering if there was a problem with the Barclays website as there was a problem a few weeks ago where customers couldn't get access....maybe they haven't quite sorted it out yet.
