Hi all I operate windows 8.1 with Google Chrome on an HP Envy23 desktop i have had my Envy all in one for a few years and it's worked pretty well but lately after booting up it sometimes is unresponsive for several minutes then eventually comes back to life. When it is unresponsive I can hear some activity is happening in background. I wonder if there is something I can do to prevent what is becoming annoying?#Thanks for your help. Ray

  5. Multiple times a day mostly on Sky Email account I get the message 'Google Chrome did not shut down properly. Restore pages?' Can this message be ignored or do have to keep clicking on the 'restore pages' invitation? Thanks Ray. keep safe!

  7. Thanks Ken I couldn't see the wood for the trees! OK I shut Chrome down but can't trace Chromes history file. Or AppData or hidden files. I am stuck now. Ray

  9. When I do any search on Google Chrome it keeps a list of every search which is great if I want to go back to a search but can to records of every search I make be prevented? Thanks Ray

  11. Hi All Auto complete may be the wrong term but I'm talking about when I do a Google search. Everything I have searched for is saved so each search I make is stored and appears in blue whenever I click on search. although there is the facility to remove each item manually I'm getting flooded with dozens if not hundreds of previous searches. I have tried finding the solution in Google search and tried several options but it all leads to nowhere as when I go to Settings - advanced the suggested button to click 'passwords and settings is not there. only passwords. Hope someone can help please! Ray
  12. Hi Pete strangely the problem has stopped of it's own accord so while it stays that way will leave it be (won't fix what ain't broken!) lol But will keep your latest advice in mind if we have a relapse. Thanks Ray

Hi all Sometimes when shutting down my desk top PC windows 8.1 this message appears on my desktop screen 'the instruction at Ox8007cfo reference memory at Ox8007cfo The memory could not be written.Click OK to terminate the program' I can easily get rid of the message by clicking 'end programme' but it's annoying as I have to stand over my PC and wait to see if the message appears Hope you can help Ray
