  1. Yes, I tried it on my brothers laptop
  2. I just hooked up the monitor directly to the motherboard and took out the video card and there was still no change. I think one of my friends is coming over this weekend with his motherboard and hopefully we will be able to figure out what is wrong.
  3. Different Motherboard Nothing at all
  4. I Received a new PSU and Motherboard yesterday and the computer now starts up fine and is running but I Have no Video. Any ideas? I already took it all apart and re plugged in everything re added thermal paste ect.
  5. I just rechecked the motherboard and didn't see any capacitors that had either a domed orburnt top. The PSU still has a burning smell to it.
  6. Both the motherboard and processor look fine. I cleaned off the thermal paste again. When i took the Power Suuply out it smelled singed but i couldn't see anything wrong. I am guessing i should buy a new one. Any reccomendations? My current specs Could the initial problem of not starting up be an issue with the PSU as well if the computer wasn't getting enough power during boot up? GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD3-B3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard [/url] Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core
  7. Both pins were hooked up to the tester though but i am guessing i fried the processor
  8. Thank you very much for your help. I had already reapplied the thermal paste when starting the thread. I had also taken everything off the motherboard and reattached it. I also had reset the CMOS by taking out the battery for a few minutes. Recent Steps I took everything off except and just left the motherboard pin in and the fans and tried turning it on and nothing happened. Nothing lights up and no fans begin to spin. I also do not have an internal speaker so even if it did start i would not be able to hear the posting beeps. (I had been wondering for a while why i never heard these thanks for clearing that up) The power levels looked correct as to your specifications 11.9 5 and 3.3 but when i just checked it i heard a POP and smelled a strong smoky smell. :(. Something just got destroyed. This was when nothing was plugged in so it has to be either the processor or the motherboard.
  9. try and turn my computer on nothing happens. Last week when it wasn't booting up i thought the processor could be overheating so i unplugged the power to it and turned the computer on. After doing this the computwer would flicker on and off every second until i turned the PSU off. After doing this and plugen i tging the processor back in the computer does nothing i replug in the computer. I tried re setting the motherboard and the heat sink but nothing changed. I bought a power supply tester and when i hook the 24 pin and the 8 pin processor cords up to it and test the psu all the fans and everything turn on in the computer and the Voltage seems right on the tester.( i have no clue though)
