Can i use an amd opteron 6128 for personal use?it has some cool features but it is mentioned as a server processor Can this affect my computer?

Hi I recently saw this laptop on sale and i wondered whether it is good or not Its specs are: Intel core i7 740qm,nvidia gts350m 6gb DDR3 ram how good is it??? Can a play modern games on 3d in medium-high graphics Is 3d really good or is it just an unneeded feature

Hi i am intending to buy a simple HP dv6zqe to upgrade it Its base configuration is: amd a4 3420m ,6gb DDR3 ram and the processor's intergraded graphics card Now i want to upgrade it to and Phenom II x4 x940 BE, 8gb DDR3 ram and Amd radeon HD 6950m/6970m or gtx560m(Wich is the better/better value for money) Is that possible???
