  1. Is there any particular software or games that you want to be able to use or play on the new desktop PC? that can help us to find a more better suited and cheapest PC for you.
  2. For a nice gaming desktop that will play all the games out right now i would look at the following from Novatech. Barebones Desktop : http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/barebones/bb-i524gc.html Nvidia Graphics Card : http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/nvidiageforcegraphicscards/nvidiagtx560tifermiseries/nov-560.html That should give you a nice gaming desktop. You will need to install an operating system in it though as the barebones comes without one to save even more money. Let me know what you think? I use Novatech for all my system builds and I am a massive PC gamer.
  3. With Minecraft I am sure what this error means is that the server you are trying to connect to has not yet upgraded to version 1.2 and is still using the older version. You could either try to find another server which is using the new 1.2 verson or downgrade your Minecraft back to the version is was before and wait until all the other servers have caught up and upgraded. This happens alot with online games as the server owners can get very lazy when it comes to new updates being implemented on their servers.
  4. To try and save your data and to check things out on your PC do you have an old copy of Windows XP at all? I ask this as we could turn that into a Windows Live CD or USB which could be then used to boot your PC into a Windows Environment. I have a Wndows live cd and I also used a WIndows live USB that i created for work diagnostics and basic system checking.
  5. For some reason I don't feel very reassured of the repair place that you sent your PC too. They said that you needed a new motherboard, which is fine if they say that and it is not booting up but then when they put a new one in the internet does not work so they ask that you do a restore of factory settings? Now i could be wrong but does that mean that they changed the motherboard but then continued to use the currently installed Windows to test it?. I would have thought that a fresh install of Windows would have been needed as it is a massive change in hardware. It looks to me like they then used a Linux live cd (I bet Ubuntu)to boot up your computer to check the board and of course the internet works, as it is acting like a fresh operating system install. I know that i am new to this board and i dont know if you would want to try this but my advice would be to do a total reinstall of windows and start from a fresh and clean Windows. I am sure you can save any save games for your FM2012 and others to transfer over when the installation in complete.
