Hi and welcome. You are receiving help on another Pc help forum. It would be best to continue there as it will be less confusing for you and save time for those trying to help. -
What happens when you leave this stick of Ram out - is this the 128Mb stick? Computer POST and beep codes http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm
-
Ken will be better to advise you about beep codes - continual beeping usually Ram or Motherboard related. In the Bios - reset to default settings. Save the changes and exit the Bios. Make no other changes while in the Bios. How much Ram do you have installed - did you remove all sticks and try one at a time? The make and model number of the Pc may help us.

Hi, I have no idea where you can find a Win 98 SE Pc in West london, sorry. The one that you are working on - if you feel able to. Check inside the Pc. Turn the Pc off - remove the plug from the wall. Once you have opened the case. Touch the metal case to discharge any static. Remove any dust - do not use a vacumm cleaner, too much static. Check that all fans are free of dust and will rotate. Remove Ram - Video cards etc and then Reseat them in their slots. But first - clean the copper connections of the Ram - Video cards with a pencil eraser. If more than one Ram stick - use just one stick at a time installed in your Pc, as a test and see if it will start. Check all cables and connections. Put the case back on the Pc - and see if it will boot to the desktop. Cleaning inside your computer http://tnthelpforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=593 Do Not use suggestion No 5 - in the above link.

Hi and welcome. Some reasons for Blue Screens New hardware - Software installed. Device driver - Video driver - corrupted - faulty. Faulty Ram - Overheating - Dying hard drive etc. But where the blue screen error is reported, is not necessarily where it first started and may not be the cause. The System File Checker log and Event Viewer that you posted are not telling us much. Minidump report. KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M Probably caused by : win32k.sys That is the only minidump out of the 3 that you posted, that could be read. Please post the minidump files in their own folder - without the sfc, driver list, MSINFO, Windows updates etc. Or download BlueScreenView http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html Download link at the bottom of the page. Download > Install. Once it has scanned > Click on Edit > Select All > File > Save Selected Item It will open in Notepad - or save to Notepad > Copy > Paste. Then Post the last 5 minidump files

Start up problems after power cut

Hi and welcome. If you have the install Cd. Start the Pc using the Xp install Cd. - when prompted press [R] Choose Windows installation [typically by pressing [1] When prompted for password. Press Enter. Type chkdsk /r [note space after chkdsk] When fininshed. Type Exit And press Enter. The Bios needs to be set to boot [start] from the Cd - it may already be set to do so. http://michaelstevenstech.com/bios_manufacturer.htm -
Hi and welome. In addition to the above. Run a Hard drive test. http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/ How to use SeaTools for Windows http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/202435en http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287 Again you burn the ISO file to a Cd. There may be an onboard diagnostic test - what is the make and model number of the Pc?
-
8 passes or overnight should be enough but at 66% - I'd let it complete the scan. Any Red entries will mean the Ram is faulty. Is there anything showing in Red - how many sticks of Ram are there installed?
-
Have you tried another Cd in the Cd drive - will it boot [start] from the Cd? Will it boot to another USB stick? When you set the Bios to start from the Cd - are you saving the settings before leaving the Bios? Pressing F10 will do this on most Pc's.

Where the blue screen error is reported, is not necessarily where it first started and may not be the cause. But MEMORY_MANAGEMENT is listed x 2 You say your 'Ram is maxed out' But list - '2.00 GB Single-Channel DDR2 @ 333MHz (5-5-5-15)' Check Crucial online scan to see what is installed and what may or not be added. http://www.crucial.com/uk/systemscanner/index.aspx ----- Run a Mem Test. http://www.memtest86.com/download.html Download the ISO file from one of the links above to your desktop. Then burn the ISO to a Cd. Start the Pc using the Cd and run the memory test overnight or for at least 8 passes. It is best to run a full scan on individual Ram sticks if you can. Or run the test but if any errors are shown - then remove all sticks of Ram and test each Ram stick one at a time. ----- You can also run the Mem test from a USB stick http://www.memtest.org/#downiso Scroll down to Download (Pre-built & ISOs) Download -Auto-installer for USB Key (Win 9x/2k/xp/7) *NEW!* Download to your desktop - unzip it there. Put the USB stick into your Pc USB slot. Click on the Install icon on your desktop - it will then have a box appear asking you to name the USB drive letter. Put the drive letter in the box and click on install. But first check that you are using the correct drive letter - with the USB stick in the USB slot of your PC - right click My Computer > click on Open. Your USB stick will be listed with the drive letter. ---- Let us know the result of the Ram test.

Thanks for the update - good to know all is up and running. An added suggestion to anyone reading this - always back the registry first, before making any changes.
