  1. Personally... i'd go to system76.com and but a nice new linux lappy.
  2. It is accurate, but not always used.
  3. Try downloading and installing the kazaa lite codec pack.
  4. He he... if you wanna be picky then you should use a static proof mat for under the computer and under your feet. Personally i just use a wooden table or the floor... whatever's nearest ;)
  5. Hey there... you won't be interested in knowing that i've just been invited to the staff team on ubuntuforums.org He he... i am now a god among 180 THOUSAND members.... not counting those who don't register! Enjoy :)
  6. Turn off pc and remove power cord. Open the box, remove old one, push new one in its place. Put everything back together, turn pc on. Windows should recognise it. go to nvidia.com and download the latest drivers. (not beta) and run that... a reboot and all should be good :)
  7. Well just buy another graphics card... Get an AGP card, as you've got the slot for it. Simply swap them round and everything should still work.
  8. 9. tried using a different usb port/cable?
  10. Yeah... i think that's been fixed with Edgy... not sure.
  11. Why are mac users considered elite on this forum? ;) Personally i think linux users would be the most elite :P
  12. Try using CCleaner from download.com It really does clean out the crap!
  13. What method did you use to encrypt the files? Personally in this situation i would load up a linux live cd to sort it out.
  14. For those who don't know what either of those are... check out my screenshot: http://pricechild.agsvoice.com/Screenshot.jpg That is Ubuntu Linux 6.10 beta (Edgy Eft) running the latest beta 9xxx drivers with Beryl isntalled on Edgy's native xorg7.1 server. It also has windows xp running in a virtual machine on one side of the cube, 2 videos running with one transparent over the other to show off the realtime transparency, the cube rotated AND an output that isn't really a benchmark but still show FPS. The human eye doesn't really detect any more than 50FPS if you're lucky so, normally around 25, so imagine how smooth this is running when i'm not using the virtual machine! Here's the howto if you happen to know what you're doing: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=263851 or http://doc.gwos.org/index.php/BerylOnEdgy Pricey
  15. The orange Human thing is one of the best bits!!! Yeah Dapper WAS good.... however Edgy Eft beta is out now!!! I've been using Edgy since knot 2 and although most won't see any real improvement... its had HUGE under the hood upgrades. Just try a Desktop cd guys!!! you needn't change your hard drive!
