Thankyou both for your assistance, I tested the cable with my brothers Amp and it plays sound through that fine, so that rules that one out :/ TV Model 32PFL7603D/10 Philips LCD TV 32PFL7603D 32" integrated digital with Ambilight and Pixel Plus 3 HD - Philips Support I tried Updating the TV software but to no avail. And reading the manual shows it only officially supports PC when connected via DVI/HDMI. And it was the second type of plug the one with the two strips. I've found the solution not that it's a great one lol. After borrowing a friends DVI-HDMI cable and using that instead i had sound. Which means The television itself doesnt support sound for PC HDMI-HDMI or atleast not to my knowledge. Thanks again for all the help guys :)

Sorry for late reply. And my Graphics card is a Sparkle Nvidia 9800 GTX+ 512mb, the Sound card is connected to the TV via a regular audio in jack (the ones you get for headphones and speakers 3.5 i think they're called). thanks for the quick response :D

Ok i've recently upgraded my PC a bit i've gotten a New Sound Blaster Audigy SE and i've gone and bought a 32" Philips Ambilight HD LCD TV for use as a monitor. Up until now i've been using a couple of cheap Speakers for sound, but i figured why not use the speakers built into the TV aswell for a 4-way almost surround soundy effect. This is where i hit a brick wall. I'm running the video into the TV using a HDMI cable i bought from Game. It's meant for use with a PS3, XBOX 360 or a Blu Ray player. I figured they all do the same and it would run fine on my computer and it does. There's a single audio in Jack at the back of the TV for all the HDMI audio And in the menus you're supposed to set the audio in to a specific HDMI i have done this but i get NO SOUND from the TV speakers. I know it can't be my audio setup because using the same settings on the cheap speakers i get music and sound fine... The only theory i can think of as to why it isn't working is The HDMI cable itself. As i know many of them are designed to carry sound (Especially the ones designed for games consoles and BR players). Perhaps my TV is assuming the audio is already coming through the cable. If so is the a way to fix it without buying a new cable? Could it be something else entirely? If you need any of my specs let me know but i've got a pretty decent gaming rig so i'm certain performance isn't an issue... Thanks in advance Blue

yup tht looks like it but i must hav got the earlier model (even though they look the same) cos my install cd doesnt have the vista driver on it. ive looked on that site and there doesnt seem to be one available for download?? anything u guys can sugest?

i think its dongle anyway i'll get straight to the point i just bought and installed windows vista onto a new partition on my hard drive (both xp and vista on there so i dont miss xp and incase vista went wrong...which it did) and straight away i have run into a brick wall. i installed it all fine except for my wireless usb internet adapter (which connets to my router) apparantly the cd doesnt contain a driver for vista. I tried searching the internet for a driver on with xp with no such luck. this is probably down to the fact that it isnt a big brand adapter (i wanted something cheap lol). anyway any help would be greatly appreciated. the wireless adapter is the - DIGITUS WIRELESS LAN USB 2.0 ADAPTER or so it says on the disc any way so again thanks in advance.

Not sure if this is the right section? sorry if it isn't. OK ive had this problem with my computer for a while but its only recently become a big enough one for me to bother trying to sort it. Whenever i set my computer to anything higher than 800x600 resolution images and windows show up fine but in-game/ menus/ icon text in windows and everything else (even the internet) appears garbled (for lack of a better word). the text is readable but barely and i just spent30 quid on a game that doesnt support a resolution as low as the one i use. please help oh and if it helps i'm using a Winfast nvidia 6600 Graphics card and a 20" lcd tv as a monitor (through the vga port)

Ok still doesnt work but i think i found a solution. In the motherboard manual it says "When installing a PCI Expess x16 graphics card (the type i'm installing), make sure to set the HDMI SUPPORT item in the BIOS to [OFF]; otherwise you will not see the screen display" my question then is how to set the HDMI setting to off? or how to access BIOS? (btw thanks for all your help so far) -

ok by nothing i meant it wouldn't rekognise the card it only recognised my built in graphics and asked me to install that again.and while the graphics card was plugged in i ran the driver software and it said maybe not a leadtek product. sorry for that. and i dont think i downloaded it from there and what are BIOS? it gives me an option to download that aswell. -
This is my first time upgrading anything more complicated than a stick of ddr2 so i apologise if i sound like i dont know what i'm on a about lol. Ok i have an "ASUS M2A-VM HDMI" Motherboard and i want to upgrade to the "WinFast PX6800 LE TDH" graphics card my friend generously donated to me. I tried plugging it in and nothing? I then read somewhere that i needed to download the driver but that still didn't work? So please help......
