  1. Sorry, yes it is through a wireless connection. I will try connecting through an Ethernet cable. Trying 'repair' just brings up a message saying it can't connect and contact network admin. The two devices under network adapters are: NVIDIA nForce10/100 Mbps Ethernet (with a red cross) Realtek RTL8185 54M Wireless LAN Network Adapter (showing no problems)
  2. Thanks for the advice, I have tried what you suggested but I get the message of 'no operation can be performed on wireless network connection 2 while it has its media disconnected.' I'm not completely sure what this means. And yes, it is set to detect ip and dns settings automatically.
  3. My flatmates have recently set up a new router in our flat and my laptop does not seem to be able to connect. Upon start up the notification appears to say 'can not connect to network'. When I check available networks, mine shows up, after attempting to connect my laptop just seems to forget what it was trying to do and just displays the available networks screen again. There is never a notification window with a problem. Very occasionally it will connect but will again lose the connection after a couple of minutes at best. I have other devices connected to the network (xbox 360 & ipod touch) that seem to work fine so was wondering if anyone could offer some advice? My laptop is running Windows XP. Many thanks.
  4. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could offer some help? I currently have a Compaq Mini 700 netbook running Windows XP. I need to format it or at least revert to factory settings. As it has no optical drive I can not simply use discs. I have checked the BIOS but have no option to perform a low-level format. I've checked around but can't seem to find a solution to this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
