Compaq laptop using vista home premium. I switch on it does the thing along the bottom but then all I get is a black screen. So I switch off and switich on and up comes Startup Repair. It runs for about half an hour and then the computer starts. I tried uninstalling Norton and installing again only to find it had wiped all my programmes out so I restored to a few day earlier and all was fine. I came to start it and still back to the Startup Repair procedure. Once on I had to set my Internet settings but other than that it is working. I daren't switch it off now!!! If you can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
