  1. small update: Yeah, it turned out that the graphics card itself was corrupt - had to swap it.Now everything works fine. thanks for all the help Nev! :D cheers
  2. Hey and hanks a lot for your help - really appreciate it ! Yeah, had some thoughts about the card myself, but yeah, I'll definitely go test it out and see whether a replacement is needed. Once more, thank your for your help.
  3. Hello and thanks a lot for the reply. Unfortunately I thoroughly checked the the device manager - there are no signs of the card whatsoever. As for the test idea, that would've been great but as I stated, it ain't like all is cool and the only problem is that my video card ain't being detected in the DM. I can't even install the drivers that would go along with the card so right now a simple scrolling down's an issue not to mention any games :)
  4. Hey people! Recently I witnessed a problem that perhaps you might help me solve. The thing is that not so long ago my mobo died on me so I decided to get a new one. I replaced my previous GA-P31-DS3L with GA-G41MT-D3V. After booting my PC I noticed that it doesn't recognize my video card (Geforce GT220).The video card just ain't being displayed in the Device Manager at all. So far I tried: 1)disabling my integrated graphics in BIOS (or just putting a prio to PCIE slot). 2)updating BIOS 3)installing drivers from my initial v-card disk / manufacture website ( that ain't working due to the fact that those drivers simply can't find the necessary hardware..) 4)unistalling the integrated graphics drivers What's kinda odd is the fact that the card fan spins/ the image is being displayed properly when the monitor is plugged to the card..yet regardless of that it looks like the pc ain't seeing that card as a piece of hardware. I'm really clueless as of what to do here to be honest..while on the previous motherboard I had no such problems at all. should it be needed, my specs are: Win XP Intel E6750 cpu GF GT220 video card 4gb DDR3 FPS450 PSU (with a minimum for this card being 400W) motherboard: GA-G41MT-D3V Thanks in advance for the replies/ I'm really looking forward to your thoughts and suggestions as I'm kinda out of thoughts at the moment :)
