HI GUYS i am looking to build a new pc for myself something thats fast and great for gaming and would like to know what parts i should get, i have a budget of around £800. i am looking to buy (1) harddrive size isnt really and issue just big enough to run windows and afew games from. (2) ram (3) motherbaord (4) cpu (5) gfx card i am currently running a radeon hd 5870 1gb do you think it would be more cost effective to buy a second 1 of these and run them as SLI or to just buy a new card as not sure what would be more powerful. i am not interested in overclocking so am looking for fast and powerfull straight out the box, thank for any help

thank you will try that now, sorry for late reply. found its not my ram anyway, ran my daughter ram in my machine for a couple of days with the same issue, am now using her nvidea gfx card so will see if that sorts it, thank you

i have updated my gfx card, and i cant see it being my drivers as i have done several system restores and after each 1 i still have the same issue, i agree with you that i have a good chance of it being my ram but as i am running ddr3 ram and i know these have voltage issues i am not sure if its the ram itself or a bios setting. the other thing i was thinking due to the issue with playing movies could it be a harddrive issue?

hi no its not just web-based, i get the issue of my pc freezing at random times but most the times it happens when i play battlefield 3 or when i launch origin, the other time it will happens is when im watching movies off my harddrive when watching the film from my hd ( not disc ) all is fine untill it will strated to freeze for and stutter this can last for about a minute or so then it will suddenly run really fast to catch itself back up and again will run fine after that. it does when when i launch firefox sometimes and also while browsing but this is less frequent.

struggling here the fastest and best way to create the issue is by running bf3 and waiting fo rit to crash problem is i cant run the game on 1 stick of 2 gig ram,

hi guys i have an issue with my pc and i am hoping you guys can help. i have an issue over the last 6 months or so that when i am on my pc it will keep freezing and stuttrting only for a second or so, it happens when i do things like launch firefox lauch origin browse through webpages. it happens alot when am watching movies aswell. when watching the film from my hd ( not disc ) all is fine untill it will strated to freeze for and stutter this can last for about a minute or so then it will suddenly run really fast to catch itself back up and again will run fine after that, the issue seems to be getting worse with the pc freezing and locking up more and more when just lauching my browser. my system is decent running i7 cpu 6gb corsair 1600mhz ram gigabyte ga-ex58-ud5 radeon hd5870 wd velociraptor hd thermaltake toughpower 600w powersupply. does anyone have any idea what may cause this issue or any idea of a prog that i can download to test the components? thank you for any help sut
