Randy lol...why do 'we' need to know ?.....it's non of your business how much i f'kin' paid for them, if you haven't got a resolution to my problem...butt out. The fact is the software is not at fault as it's worked fine on other comps, I just need some help from those who can...not from those who want to be smart and 'holier than thou'

Btw, Nev cheers again But the 2nd machine worked fine with linux , and still shows 1.5gb usable in sytem info

Thanks for your input guys, as i say, they ARE both identical machines, both had linux on, both hard drives formatted and both installed with windows 7 from the same disk. I only installed '7' to try it as i thought it would stuggle...but the first one i tried...honestly works like a dream, it really does fly ! these are the kids comps and all they do is browse facebook and stuff but it loads as fast as my own comp. The 2nd, ive tried everything....updated bios, tried the online optimising programs...windows built in problem solver...what i dont understand is non report any problems, as i say the windows 7 widget isnt even reporting the cpu or memory are over-used. At a loss

Just to elaborate a little...it seems to do most things....eventually, just takes an age shutting down and booting, and say if you open up any program it just seems to lag for 5-10 seconds as if it's thinking about it...once it starts it seems to open the program ok. Sounds like a memory issue to me, but dont think it is, as the same memory works fine in the other, and the memory usage gadget in '7' never shows above 40% ?

Hi all We have 2 identical in every way 'Acer aspire one' net books both have same cpu, same memory (1.5gb) I've just upgraded them from lynux to windows 7...one absolutely flies and one is totally unusabley slow Anybody ideas on things to try ? Cheers Russ

Hi all I've an advent T9610 Desktop, not being used at home, thinking of taking it to work and using it as the main computer at work, to run kitchen and bathroom design cad programs and quoting software, 3-4 other laptops would be using this systems resourses....i've not got a great knowledge on networks and how they work, but all the main software would be stored on this comp, which the others access. All comps are running windows 7 ultimate. My question is :- The Advent has 3gb of Ram - upgradable to 8gb what ram do you think i'll use, will 3 be enough ? thinking of putting another 2 in, is that a waste of time...or might i need more ? cheers in advance Russ

My daughter has an old Thinkpad R51 (series 1830), she's broke 2 already so we're not getting her a newer one until she learns how to look after them....she's 36 now...she should no better ! :) when we got it her it had a vertical line of what looked like dead pixels about 2 thirds across the screen, not sure if this is relevant ? The problem we have is every now and again the display goes funny , the screen splits and the right 3rd of the screen displays on the left, and the left 2/3rds on the right. There is a switch on the bottom of the lappy that switches from lappy display/separate monitor, which seems a bit loose and seems to slide a bit too easily. Could this be the problem ? if not, is this screen or Graphics issue ? If it's a graphics issue, does anybody know if this comp just has integrated graphics, or it has a graphics card that can be replaced. I'm working away atm so cant take a look at it myself Thanks in advance, Russ

It works fine with the n80, so it's an issue between the n95 & vista Can i get a software update, before i get pc suite working ?

Cheers W What model is What ? Suite Version 6.85.14.1, phone is N95, the suite doesn't crash if the phone isn't connected...just got me thinking...i'll try it with my old n80.....will let you know how i get on :)

Hi all My nokia pc suite, just opens, stays open for a second or 2 then encounters a problem and closes, an ideas ? Have tried re-installing several times, and yes i've got the version for vista, does anybody have the pc suite on vista ? and do you have similar problems ? Cheers Russ
