  2. Hi, sorry for replying so late work was busy so got tied up i apologize for that. Ken i really appreciate that you contacted aston pride i didn't know that they extended the broadband scheme and i didn't get any letters or email to say that they did that. im using sky broadband connection is through a usb wifi adapter wireless operating system windows xp
  3. hi ken thanks for the reply the machine was kept at home and the aston scheme set it all up i have tried asking other parents but they said that they followed the instructions on the link and cant remember what they did
  4. Ken i understand exactly what you mean buddy and its good that you are being very cautious in this thread this was a scheme from aston pride but they chose the kids from school who were eligible to the itc computers for home project were they provided a desktop pc with secure broadband for £10 per month but for some reason the broadband connection didnt last very long so they told us that we could keep the computer and subscribe to our own isp they also gave me a link on how to change the configuration but as i didnt have any subscription for any company at that time i dint bother with it now that link is no longer available and when i did contact them they said that i have to get a computer engineer out myself to sort the problem out if you can contact them for me that would be great the number is 0121 303 5671 thanks for your help ken
  5. ken im legit buddy and i have tried everything that has been requested to use my own isp but to no avail the only option is i have to fork out some cash to get an expert to come and change the configuration and to your reply ken http://www.celebrate-astonpride.com/our-projects/education/ict-phase-3/ Tel: 0121 303 5671
  6. sorry have to to a wedding invitation tonight il get back to this thread later thankyou
  7. would i be able to restore to factory settings maybe that would work
  8. thanks for the reply lads yea il try the instructions that you have told me see if that works its just that the school have changed something on the pc so that i wont be able to use any other isp so that it would be strictly filtered for example when it was running through the school internet i couldn't even go on facebook there page would pop up saying that not authorized to go on this. I already tried asking other parents they said it was on the school website on how to do it but its no longer available Nev
  9. thanks for reply buddy its a desktop pc and im using sky broadband the problem is the school gave me some settings to change but i deleted the message it was like i had to go on start then run then type something on there which would open up a page and from there i had to untick and delete some settings
  10. Hello was wondering if anyone can help me out on this my kid was given a pc from this scheme they had from school with there own wireless internet which was like a square little dish that they stuck on the roof it was ideal because all adult material was blocked unfortunately the scheme didn't last very long and the internet was no longer available but they said that we could keep the pc so they sent me an txt message on how to change the configuration to use any isp but stupid me didnt save it because i was thinking on which service provider to use well to cut the long story short school cant do it for me no more because its been a while now and there engineer is no longer there who dealt with this can anyone help me on how to change the configuration i would really appreciate it thanks in advance
