is there anyway i can find out if its the motherboard ?

I have a Fujitsu Siemens desktop PC when I turn it on it immediately turns it off can you someone help please? When I turn it on the fan spins and then the whole PC shuts down I check and there is still good amount of thermal compound on processor and heat sink. All the wires are correctly plugged in I have checked it. When I turn it on it does not even get to BIOS, its turns off before that. I think that it could be power supply but I am asking for your help because it could be other component and I don't want to buy something else and waste money. Do you have any other idea what could cause the PC not to turn on so I can look into it? Thanks in advance

Hi, When I try to reboot my PC from a CD rom it says that the samsung drive is not connected however I have checked and its connected, I also swapped the cable on the motherboard with the hard drive socket but then the hard drive dont work. What else can I try?

no I dont think its the website because the owner of the site said its loading fine on his computer

Yeap that what exactly happens to me aswell, do you know why this happens? I told the owner of the site and he said it loads fine for him and he told me to press ctrl+f5 and that should work but it didnt

Hi There, So basically this website (http://www.nowloss.com) used to work fine on my laptop,phone and desktop pc browser but for some reasonn its not working fine now. well it loads but only the top bit. I have contat the owner of the website and he said its fine where he live (somewere outside UK) and he also told me to press ctrl+f5 and I did that then the website loads for 1 second then goes back to show less things on page i.e. the top bit of the page. I have tried different browsers (firefox, internet and chrome) they all do same thing. Anything you guys can suggest????

Yes the CD works I tried on my laptop and it does show files/folders when I explore it

So basically when I try to install windows XP on the new PC I brought, after it says "press any key to boot from cd" I press any key and from there I get blank screen nothing happens. What could the problem be? I have tried taking the CD out and put back in but same thing.

Can someone tell me a programme which I canuse to recover folder which I deleted from "my desktop" and from "recycle bin"? A free version would be nice

I think its the motherboard that has gone :( Do you know any site where I can get some cheap from? Also do I have to buy same motherboard or can I buy totally different like i5 processor motherboard?

Yes I have tried that and yes I used to get beep before

I also forgot to say that there are no beeps at all

Now that I have applied thermal compound it starts up now but for some reason nothing is displaying on screen it says "no signal" I have tried the following but it still same issue: - I have removed the RAM and inserted them but still same thing - I have took out the video card and put back in but still same thing - I have removed the CMOS battery and put back but still same no signal - I have tried the same screen on different pc/laptop and it works fine Anything else you can suggest me?

By Replace do you mean get a brand new fan and heatsink and install that or just put back the old fan and heatsink?

For some reason now the PC shuts down within 2 seconds and nothing shows up on screen however I took out the processor out and turned PC on without putting it back and this time the PC stays on and does not turn off automatically I then put the processor back in its place and turned on the PC and it then shut off within 2 seconds. What can I do next?

Hi I need help So basically this is what happened step by step full detail: COMOS battery was not working on my PC so I got another COMOS battery from Windows 98 and I opened my current Windows XP Desktop PC and installed it but after that when I plugged everything correctly and turned on beeped ones and it only went to login screen and then from there it shut of automatically/completely. I then opened the PC again because I thought maybe the COMOS battery was not inserted properly but then again taking out the battery and putting it back in did not help I also put back the originaly COMOS battery to check if it works but for some reason it shuts down even thought I have put back the originaly battery. (It was fully working before I changed the COMOS battery ) I then told my brother about this but he also tried taking out the battery and putting it back but this did not help at all, he then took out the fan and cleaned it (it was quite dirty) and also he cleaned the processor chip gently with the tissue paper however when we turned again it was the same problem he then took out the processor chip and turned it on but this time it stayed on but nothing was showing on screen and when he put the processor back in and then turn it on then the problem still becomes the same which is turns off withen 3 seconds and it does not even beep once. He then couldnt think of anything else because he think its maybe the processor chip that is faulty. Is there anything else you people think I can try to solve this issue or do I have to buy a new processor chip for the PC? Thanks in advance

@ Kenb - I opened the computer and it had dust in it and also there was dust attached to one of the RAM, so I cleaned it and swapped the RAMs arround as you told me, Now it seems ok. If the problem exists again I will let you know :)

Is there anyway to find out what RAM my computer is using part from opening the case and checking? because I wanna add another 1/2 GB of RAM at the moment it has 1GB installed. Also its Windows XP so how much RAM can it hold in total? The computer is Fujitsu Sieman, intel pentium 4 processor

I dont think it has anything to do with the ram as they used to be working find just few days before Well it does 1 beep which means normal, then it freezes

For some reason my XP machines freezes on the bios screen, This is the whole thing what happens. At night I turn off pc outlet in the morning I turn on outlet and PC turns on fine I then shutdown after I have used for like 1 hour or so, and when I then turn on the PC for like after couple of hours it just freezes on BIOS screen, I have to turn turn of pc and then try again and mostly it dont work. It only works when I turn it off completly back from power outlet and leave it off for like 10 seconds then when I turn it on it works. Help????
