Hello you lovely people - sorry I haven't been around recently. I have a million different excuses from getting married soon to getting a new job (Still working for cable). I recently replaced the HDD in my Vaio to a SSD, which is great, but I miss having enough HDD space to do whatever I want. I know nothing about NAS, but here's what I want... I want my spare 2.5" 750GB HDD to be plugged directly into my Router via ethernet, so I can drag and drop files from my Laptop. If an android and/or IOS phone can use it too it would help but isn't essential. Auto-backup would help but isn't essential "Cloud based" access your files anywhere - again, I could probably make use of it when on holiday or whatever, but I'm not overly bothered. My budget is £50. Does such a product exist?? Thanks for your help, Tom

Hello I tried to watch that new "The Interview" movie online. But at the time you could only watch it if your IP address indicated you were located within the USA. Naturally, I thought it'd be a great idea to download a toolbar called Hola Unblocker, which essentially acts as a proxy. Trouble is, it didn't work. And now I can't get rid of the thing. I've uninstalled in "Add/Remove Programs", which removed the software from the add/remove programs list, but did little else, because it's still there when I open FireFox. Anyone got any ideas? I love the RX8 - it really is my "dream car" (I appreciate my standards are low compared to most peoples dream cars, but hey) I could never actually own one though. I'd spend far too long wiping my druel off the steering wheel.

Hi, Do you have any other laptops, pc's, mobile phones etc that connect through your household internet? Are these working ok? When you click on a link from your favourites, if you don't have an internet connection your browser will usually load what the page looked like the last time you visited it, rather than getting a "Fresh copy" of it, so it could be an issue with your internet connection itself rather than a setting. One thing to check, make sure Internet Explorer isn't in "Work Offline" mode. Good luck

I'm afraid there haven't been any SuperHub 1 updates recently. I'm a Field Technician for a large cable company which I won't name. I have seen loads of issues with the Superhub 1's and NAS devices, the issues range from the superhub just not working at all with a NAS plugged in, to the issue you're having. I haven't seen this issue at all on the newer Superhub 2. I'd try calling your ISP to ask for the newer hub, or plugging an older router in and setting the SH1 to modem-mode. Good luck.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. When I clone a drive and put it in a new laptop I change the product key to the one on the sticker on the base of a laptop. Its all above board - no coa, no resale. I'm cloning them this way as doing the Windows updates takes hours, and this method removes that. I appreciate its not an exact science with even identical laptops sometimes having slightly different hardware, but it works well around 90% of the time. I will have a look at that software you suggested, thanks. And I overlooked the fact I would need to change partitions so thanks for that too! Thanks again for the help Tom

Hi! Sorry I haven't been around recently - i've started refurbishing laptops as a side business, it didn't feel right to ask for help when I would profit from your advice... With that in mind, I wondered if anyone would be kind enough to help me? I typically get 5 or 6 of the same make/model laptop, install windows on one machine, then clone the hard drive 5 times for the others and change product keys on each machine afterwards. I'm wondering if there is any way I can save that image on a larger hard drive just incase I get the same make/model of laptop in the future? Essentially im looking for software that will allow me to clone a hard drive, and keep a spare image of that drive somewhere else, the twist is I would want to have loads of different images on one hard drive, and be able to just pick one out whenever it was required for cloning. Did that make any sense, and can anyone recommend anything? Thanks Tom

Hi Starbuck, It's hard to tell, I think it still should be running quicker than it is, but I'm used to a better-spec laptop. Hi Bella, Are you trying to print a picture, or an entire webpage? If you just want to print the picture, right click on the picture, and click "Save picture as" (Or something similar) It should ask where you want to save it, try save it to your dekstop (Or my documents, or my Pictures, just remember where you save it) Minimise your Browser (Internet explorer, chrome, firefox, or whatever you are using) and find the picture you have just save (On the Desktop, in My Documents or My Pictures) Right click on the picture you saved, and click print.

Hi all, Thanks for the help, seedy21, I turned the laptop on in safemode and it seemed ok, rebooted for non-safemode and the laptop booted up to a black screen with a curser, nothing else. Had to force a reboot to get it to load. Because I forced a reboot, the start-up repair option was shown again, I ran it for the sake of it, and after 10 minutes trying to repair, I got the error message "Setup repair cannot repair this problem automatically" Rebooted the laptop and it came on fine... It might not be that complicated? Perhaps the image you are trying to print is too big for a page of A4, and therefore print preview only shows one half.... Page 1.... Try saving the image to your desktop, right click on it and click print from here. This should open Windows' print wizard, which should scale it to fit on one page. Worth a shot before reinstalling drivers?
