  1. Hi all I still havent resolved problem with router, anyone got any suggestions? Thanks Colin
  2. Hi The downstairs router is a pluscom wrc-ar2317 while the upc box upstairs is a technicolor tc7200.u Thanks Colin
  3. Hi ray, yes i use second one to extend signal due to an oversight when i build office during renovations the builders used foiled back underlay and no signal will come down from office. Upstairs is not a wireless router and unfortunately the downstairs router cannot be connected directly to test as upc signal comes through a coaxial and only fits the upc router. What settings do i need to look at would you think? Do i need to access the downstairs router through the pc using comand line or what? Again any help is appreciated Thanks Colin
  4. Thanks DSTM, i think they are only for the tv digitel box. Anyhow my UPC box is connecting fine but just wont either send signal to second router or second router isnt seeing new UPC router. Thanks anyway Colin
  5. Hi ken, thanks for coming back. Yes everything works fine in the office. All i had to do was plug out line to pc from old router upstairs and into new router and worked first time, after the usual 5/10 min time to register the signal. I then unpluged the lead for downstairs router from old upstairs router and plugged that in to new UPC box thinking that that too would just work but nothing.i have tried turning on and off, one and both routers, leaving it for a time and trying again, even pressing the reset button on the downstairs router last night as a last resort but again no signal. Thanks Colin
  6. Hi I have my home set up with internet entering through attic office to a wired router and then passed down to ground floor by cat 5 cable to a wireless router for rest of house and have had no problems. I have just switched providers to UPC and now my wireless router isn't picking up a signal .When I switched routers over I didn't have to do any set up, it just plugged and played . Do I need to change something on the ground floor wireless router .any help would be grateful thanks Colin
  7. hi ken yes thanks went through it with him ,thanks again
  8. hi ken sorry about delay in posting but i have been off line.when i tried the maleware download also completely jammed up system.I have had someone come in to try and resolve and he has taken away the pc.he tells me that the system needs to be wiped and the operating systems reloaded so hopefully that will sort out all issues.thanks for your help.

  11. Hi All I realise this issue comes up allot .I have checked through suggestions I have found with no luck . Background :I have a dell windows xp 5 yrs old .I have been connecting to it, for a few years, various hard drives ,popcorn hour, iomega and notepad. For some reason not sure when (cant attribute anything to it) they just all stopped at the same time being recognised. My cable works fine ,tested. My external harddrives all work fine ,tested on other pc Popcorn hour has external power so dont believe that its a power supply issue to the usb port USB ports working fine ,memory sticks still working fine etc External hardrives are not appearing in disk management Ran dell's updates along with the devise checker for problems ,nothing comes back all working fine any further suggestions anyone has would be greatfully accepted.
