Hi. Sorry for not getting back for so long. Work calls.... To answer your questions... I previously had McAfee Internet Security 3 User for the last year. When it finished I tried to obviously find best deal and was offered McAfee Toal Protection 3 User. My laptop downloaded it no problem from same room (i.e. same IP adress) That's why I know that my problem with this is my settings with my PC. With my laptop McAfee automatically removed the previous programme. But with my main PC I still get this constantly whirling message "trying to contact McAfee" That's why I suspect it's the settings on my PC thats the problem. I removed previous progarmme on PC thinking that was hindering the download. I haven't tried to put on cd but I get the impression that wouldn't make a difference because laptop did the job no promblem. I'm not the best on PC's so any help would be appreciated Jimbo.

In addendum to my original post. What I meant to say was that I had managed to download this package successfully on my Laptop.

Hey guys. Some weeks ago I purchased McAfee Total Protection Three User. Following instructions I got as far as downloading it into downloads, then every time I try to double click this... all PC comes up with is a message trying to contact McAfee and the usual whirling Vista circle .... forever. I usually end up giving up. In contrast I have downloaded this package successfully with no problem. Do you think this is something to do with the settings I have on my PC. I have Acer Veriton M464 running Vista. Any comments would be appreciated as I'm running without protection.

Thanks for coming back to me. The desktop is an Acer Aspire; though not sure if there of the model number. I did open it up and check memory and cables not popped out, and all seemed to be fine.

Hey guys. Please help. Don't know if I'm in right forum. My friend lost a camera card reader inside her desktop. She eventually got it out after a lot of shaking. Now all she has on screen is the following. Blank black screen with message Windows could not start because the following file is missing or courrupt \Windows\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM. you can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Set-up CD-ROM . Select "R" at the first Screen to start the repair. She can't locate original disc. I have a copy of XP would this help. And also if I used this would she loose all her photos on her hard disc (which is what she is terrified of)?

Hi. I'm trying to set up my new Sony laptop, but can't connect to internet. My desktop is wired to Netgear router; with previous laptop in access list (security enabled, and not done by me I may add!) My Sony can see my network, but need to add it to access list. Netgear Access list is asking for device name and mac address to manually add it to the list. But I haven't a clue how to find these details. Call me thick if you like lol.
