Hi, I have windows Vista but have suddenly started having problems only when trying to play songs or media ie windows media player, spotify when trying to play the sound through my external audio device to allow the media to come through the amp and main speakers. This set up has worked for four years perfectly. Both spotigy and windows media player work fine if only using the laptops soundcard though. In the section "manage audio devices" its telling me that the external is working and sound does play through the soundcard when using my dj software or youtube, also any update sounds that the computor makes play through the main speakers when the external soundcard is plugged in so it cant be that. I did also buy a new one jus in case but still the same problem. Ive done all windows updates, uninstalled both spotify and media player and reinstalled but on pressing play on both they both freeze / judder as if they are trying to play the sound but then tell me theres a problem with the soundcard. Can anyone help, Ive been trying for ages to fix myself and have run out of ideas. It just seems that some setting somewhere has changed, maybe on an update or something but everything seems as it should be.
