yes onboard video even if i keep monitor plugged into onboard video and insert graphics card (with no monitor plugged into card) i dont get a display. its as if the computer moves the card to default display but i have no idea how id change it

hi, when i put the graphics card in and turn on the computer i dont get a display at all. when i take it out and i get a display and press f8 i get the advanced startup screen but there is no 'enable vga mode' there. :confused:

hi all, i have just built myself a new pc to replace my old rig. gigabyte b75m d3h mobo rev 1.1 intel i5 3470 @ 3.2ghz cpu coolermaster gx 550w psu 8gb ddr3 1333mhz ram seagate baracuda 1tb 6gbs hdd win 7 pro 64 bit my problem: at the moment i am running dual monitors from the onboard graphics which i think is intel hd 4000 or something. i have a nvidia 440gt spare graphics card i want to put in but when i plug it into the pcie slot the computer wont boot. i get the fans running (and the gpu fan) but no post beeps or anything else. i know the card is good because have tested it in my other pc. ive looked through the bios for anything i can enable but found nothing. any advice?

hi, so ive done alot of research into building a descent pc. im not into pc gaming its more to be used for all other aspects like internet browsing and also watching hd movies stored on it etc. i have decided on the Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H mobo with the intel core 3450 3.1ghz cpu and 8gb ram. the case i would like is the fractal design define mini and i have a hdd and dvd writer sorted. the only thing i cannot decide on is the psu! as i said im not into high end gaming so wont have a huge graphics card. i have a nvidia 440gt and a nvidia 9500gt which i can use and will be surfficent for me. there are so many psu's to choose from and even then i cannot decide. i know a few things that i want from a psu but cant seem to find one i am confident enough to buy to make sure it does everything i need. i know i need: a 24 pin main power connector for the mobo 80+ certified sata power connectors for hdd's and dvd some things i am not sure about are: cpu power?? which connector is needed for this mobo? what is a com connector?? this mobo has one what is the significance of a 20+4 pin connector? does that mean i can plug the 20pin and the 4 pin into my 24pin main power connector :confused: could you recommend a couple good psu's? i think id like in the region of between 500w and 750w incase of future expansion, but also its important that it is certified for efficiency and that i will have all the connectors i need. my head hurts when i try to decide! thanks in advance :) this mobo has only 1 system fan header. does that mean i can only run 1 fan for cooling? can i get an adapter to run maybe 3 fans from that header?

hi, ive been given an old dell optiplex 170l computer with windows xp sp2, 1gb ram and an 80gb hdd its all bunged up with old files. just wondering if i can restore it to its former glory as in a clean xp install but without the disk as i dont have one? or will i be able to run win 7 pro or vista on it? just want it to be usuable really. id be grateful for any advice. thankyou

ok..... i have removed the potential 'illegal' program (objectdock)? this is a program i was given off a friend which is basically just a dock to store my icons on kinda like a mac. i cant see this being the problem as i have used it for years but never the less it has been removed. i updated and ran another full scan with MBAM but it is still reporting 'no action taken'? i made sure every box was checked to removed everything found. i also installed avg 2013 free trial and ran a full system scan. it found 8 potential threats and removed them all successfully. any idea why MBAM is taking no action regarding these issues? should i now run another scan as avg has removed all threats? while installing avg the computer was restarted about 3 times and i am pleased to report that it booted up successfully everytime. :)

really? what is it called and how do i remove it? maybe this 'illegal' download is malware?? i dont have a clue. how would i be able to explain this? i have never used this program before, or do i know anything about it. i have followed your instructions regarding the update etc so i am unsure of what to do next?
