  1. Basically, I tried it with a different transformer and it still over-heated. Then I tried it with the original transformer but without the battery and it didn´t turn on (not a complete circuit I think). I then tried it with the other transformer with no battery to make sure and it didn´t turn on, just as with the original transformer. So this narrows it down to be the battery or the socket. I am going to take it down to a nearby computer/laptop repair shop when I have the oppurtunity. Thanks
  2. Baasically, my Clevo D87P no longer charges from the mains, the light goes on to show that it is charging, but it will never reach full battery power. Also, when I run my laptop from the mains, after about 5 minutes the end of the plug that goes into the laptop disconnects and when I take it out to find out why, it is too hot to touch. Does anyone know what is wrong with my laptop?
  3. Thanks, it now works, but it is at speed 1mbps whereas it should be at 54mbps
  4. by upgraded, I mean, hardware wise.
  5. I have recently upgraded my PC. It all works EXCEPT for the wireless card. It is a netgear 32-bit PCI WG311v3 (54mbps) and the description is: 'The device cannot start (code 10)' does anyone know how to fix this problem?
  6. just HL2.exe (the game) but the number under 'CPU' increases steadily through gameplay and then goes waaaay back down after the slowness and during the slowness, the CPU usage % goes from about 50% to 98-99% but the memory usage stays the same.
  7. nope, it isn't running in the processes
  8. I have, it only has PS/2 compatible mouse and Logitech USB cordless mouse
  9. I have no 'touchpad' in my device manager
  10. ok, but still, how do you disable the touch pad as I have always wanted to know
  11. How can I disable the touchpad? I have searched but I cannot find it as it appears as a PS/2 mouse and I cannot uninstall/disable it.
  12. No yellow question marks in device manager and I changed the batteries recently, but still, the wired mice have the same problems
  13. Yes I have 2 and I always used PS/2 ball mice because they are very reliable, until I started to get this annoying mouse problem about 2 weeks ago
  14. I have a clevo laptop. 3.2 GHz processor (single) 1 GB RAM 256mb dedicated graphics card (ATi mobility radeon) Windows XP Home
  15. already tried, it didn't work unfortunately but I now only get the odd mouse behaviour in games
  16. I am nt sure if it is an error of my laptop, or if steam hates me, but I can play Counter Strike Source, Gmod etc (source engine games) but all the older games (cs 1.6, Day of Defeat etc.) dont run and they immediately shut down shortly after opening it (before it has fully loaded). There are no error messages but it just doesn't work.
  17. I still get the slowing + erratic behaviour in any DirectX applications and I have tryed the solutions put forward in that article
  18. yes, I still get the same problem when I use the touch pad and the wireless ball mouse is a logitech
  19. wireless ball, but I get the same problem with any mouse I use (I have wireless ball, wired ball, touch pad and wireless optical) except with the wireless ball mouse, it does not become uncontrollable but it still slows my laptop right down. My desktop PC is fine and doesn't have any of these problems but my laptop is being very problematic.
  20. My mouse has been acting oddly and has not been getting any better. Every 2 - 4 mins, my mouse becomes uncontrollable and whenever I move it, the pointer dashes all over the screen and drastically slows my computer down as well. Can anyone help me solve this problem?
