1. Hi Guys, Recently my hard drive failed, and so I need to install what I was running before. The operating system I was using was Windows Vista Business. I have the licence for it, but no disc, as I never received a disc with the laptop when purchased everything came pre-installed. One of the only things I never really got around to was creating back up discs. Is there anyway I can obtain a disc, or just simply download Windows Vista Business? I've got a genuine licence, and as far as I'm aware that is what I'm really paying for. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
2. Thanks Ken - I thought that would pretty much be the case, that it would be a bit of a mystery. The new screenshot I posted shows the wifi connections in the device manager, the previous screenshot showed they had dissapeared. Will keep you posted on how everything goes! :) Cheers
3. Hi Guys - thanks for your replies on this. Right... After becoming more and more frustrated with the laptop and not being able to figure out why the wifi connection wasn't working, i just didn't use the laptop for a good couple of weeks. Now to my surprise, I turned it on this evening, and the wifi is working great... what on earth is going on? Obviously it's good that it's back, but i really would like to prevent this from happening again if possible. Screenshot below of my device manager, in particular the wireless card. You'll notice there is now an additional entry from the previous screenshot i provided earlier on in this thread. I have not changed anything, it just seems to have come back by itself... 4. Re-installed these drivers, but still nada. No confirmation or anything after the drivers installed by the way. Think it's possible that the wireless card has actually stopped working by itself?
5. Thanks Walker - This is what I'd originally hoped had happened! :p Sadly not though...
6. Sorry - image came out a bit small. You can see a larger version here: http://www.slambie.co.uk/Untitled-1.png
7. Hi Ken - Thanks for getting back to me. There aren't any yellow exclamation marks or anything - or even anything that looks like a wireless card... Definitely has wireless though, and the wireless button is definitely switched on.
8. Hi Guys, Switched my laptop on a few hours ago to find my wireless connection wasn't working. Haven't installed anything new, only use the laptop for maintaining my wordpress sites. The wireless tray icon has a little red cross next to it, and when hovered over says "Not Connected - No connections are available" ...Which obviously there are, and even if there was a fault with my router (which there isn't as everything else connects perfectly) there are usually around 15 other local neighbour connections picked up. System Details below - let me know if you need anything else: Sony Vaio - VGN-Z21WN Windows 7 Professional - Service Pack 1 Processor - IntelĀ® Core2 Duo CPU P9500 @ 2.53GHz 2.53 GHz Installed memory (RAM) - 4.00 GB System type - 64-bit Operating System
