Hi there My original cd rw drive was broken so I bought a dvd rw drive to replace it. Im not that clued up on replacing parts in a pc but it seemed straight forward. Its a LINEON but i didnt take a note of the model. The problem is this, although the new drive seems to be working ok (it opens and closes) my pc hasnt detected it. I am sooooooooo desperate to get this working because I have just bought wrath of the lich king (world of warcraft) and i neeeeeeeeeeeed to play it!!! heehee Im running windows XP proffesional service pack 3 I hope that all made some sense

I am running XP service pack 2. I had a virus befor xmas and a friend of a friend that knows more about pc's than me, got it all working again for me. He installed NOD32 anti-virus system for me which seems to be working great. The problem I am having is that when I play games i.e. 1 hr free trials from bigfishgames and also games I have paid for and downloaded, my pc just switches of completely in the middle of them. There is no warning, or error message. Its also completely random as to when it does this, i could play for 5 mins or 5 hours, it just depends what mood the pc seems to be in as to how long it lets me play!!! Once its switched off i have to unplug it from the mains and plug it back in before it will boot up again. Sometimes it re-boots normally, other times I have to select safe mode and it runs through a big list of drivers etc on a black screen before it starts up properly. Hope this gives someone enough info to maybe figure out the cause. helpppppppp pleaseeeeeee its driving me nuts!!!! lol
