  1. Thanks a lot, will read them later, when my son is in bed.
  2. That didn't help I'm afraid. Still 1 blink and nothing. With battery back in again no blink. I don't understand why it did this before, but started working again on it's own.
  3. Thanks Nev. There were no flashing lights, now it is 1 blink which is CPU not working, if it does blink. It's still not every time. Is this a contact HP scenario? Thanks.
  4. Thanks for your replies. It is Hewlett Packard Pavilion Product WB330EA#ABU Model dv6-2115sa Now I want to count the flashes, the caps and number lock lights are not doing it! I have 2 panels that appear to be removable. Is it the one that has a picture looking like a stack of CD's? I don't have a can of compressed air at the moment.
  5. Hello, Not sure if you can help. My laptop won't boot up, it's a Hewlett Packard. It sounds like it is going to, then 'idles'. The lights for wi-fi and volume don't change colour, and the screen stays black. Sometimes the caps lock light flashes. It has done this before, it wouldn't work for months. Then one day just came back on again. Prior to the first episode we hadn't allowed Norton to do it's updates on shutdown. When it worked again there were 92 Norton updates installed, computer was secure. But on each shutdown, there was always one update. Norton say it won't be a problem connected to them. Thanks
