Ok guys, I hope someone can help me on here.
Around five days ago I stopped using my desktop as normal, turned it off and went to sleep. I turn everything off by the main plug and that includes my router which is in my bedroom. I booted up my PC as normal the next day and I noticed the bottom right connection icon never had the 'globe' on it which usually means my connection is fine. I have tried restarting my computer numerous times, resetting my router numerous times as well and nothing is working. When I try and diagnose and repair the connection it just asks me to 'Automatically get new IP settings' and when that doesnt work it suggests resetting 'Local Area Connection', which again doesnt do anything.
Its not any of my ethernet cables as I have tested them into my laptop and xbox, both of which connect fine. I have around five devices connected to my router at one time, 2 xboxs, 1 laptop/desktop and 1 mobile phone.
I live in England and my ISP is BT and i'm using there fifth generation BT HOME HUB.
The ethernet port on the back of the desktop is working as when I plug my ethernet into it it lights up green meaning its picking it up.
I also bought a USB ethernet adapter to see if it works that way and again, its not even connecting to the internet with that being used. I have no idea whats going on and any help would be appreciated.
I'm on Windows Visa Ultimate
Thanks alot.
