Hi, I have just got a new Acer laptop, its running windows 8.1, on the set up I had to use a hotmail email address to set it up and I have used the wrong one, my question is: can I change the hotmail email address I used to a different hotmail email address (or can I use a different email address like a Gmail one??) I also want to download google chrome when I have got most of the settings right and loaded my photos and docs to this new laptop, I plan to delete alot of the pre-loaded programmes/games/advert crap etc., and use free AVAST antivrius programme (then delete the trial McAfee one preloaded on this acer E5-511 laptop), do you think this will be OK?? I am currently making the 1 single DVD acer drivers/apps back up disk, should I also make the other file which says you should use a USB stick of at least 16gb? (I dont have a 16gb USB stick at present though). thanks LAPTOPDUNCE

PS just noticed that argos have the same laptop but with the i5 processor with the 1.7ghz speed, and its £379.99 (50 quid more) so I have reserved the N3530 processor one for tomorrow at Currys, I will at least be able to get it all up and running tomorrow, thanks LAPTOPDUNCE - after waiting all day to get into Tesco's website, none of their laptops were included in this black friday action, typical!! I think these retailers jam up the websites themselves hoping people will make a snap purchase when they finally get in! At least I will be able to see this one in the store and I havent committed or paid for it yet, thanks

Hi, Yes, I will keep it all on this thread, I am a dunce with all these forums, I can get this Acer with the N3530 processor tomorrow at Currys/PCworld outlet right near me, in fact I think this is the best priced one as Argos have the same model but with a slower Celeron processor (which I have been told to avoid Celeron) and only a 500gb HD, I need to get something to replace this awful XP one, at least I can get it set up tomorrow if I reserve it now. All the ones I looked at at Tesco were not even included in their Black Friday offers, after hours of trying to get in their website I finally got in but the one I was looking at wasnt even in the offer, their Acer with an i5 processor was £449 and as you said it had a much slower. 1.7 Ghz speed processor. thanks LAPTOPDUNCE

PS, just looked again at this laptop, and its not a touch screen according to the spec, it does say"multi gesture touch pad" but I think that is the mouse pad on the laptop itself, if you pull down the spec tab it has an "N" for no for a touch screen, and says the screen is an LCD one, Have I understood this right? Right OK, when I get around to cleaning the HD on the XP laptop, I will only do the free space at the highest swipes on the CCleaner drive wiper and not touch the registry. I just hope I can find a decent new laptop to replace the XP one, obviously will have to have the new one before I start to wipe the XP one and put it on ebay. I did quite well with an old Asus laptop that had a smashed screen, that went for 50 quid, I was going to bin it at first!! thanks LAPTOPDUNCE

Right OK, thanks for that I will pass on this one, I didnt realise it was a touch screen model - I DONT want one of those!! - HATE those touch screen things!! ipads and the like!! HORRIBLE! I always use a seperate mouse and keyboard anyway with a laptop as I never move them but have them as a "desk" model. What would you recommend as a good laptop up to about 400 quid? I am away on sunday so glad I didnt buy this one off Tesco! I just need to replace this terribly slow windows XP one, thanks LAPTOPDUNCE

Acer Aspire E1-532P 15.6-inch Touchscreen Notebook (Intel Pentium 3556 1.7GHz Processor, 4GB RAM, 750GB HDD I am thinking of buying this laptop from Tesco direct, I have been told that it is a good processor, I am only using it for minor youtube watching, ebay, emails and surfing, it is to replace an old Windows XP laptop that is now runningvery slowly with only google chrome browser. hI, thanks for that, I have got CCleaner on the XP laptop and after I have taken off the photos & docs I intend to wipe the free space of the C & D drives at the highest 32 swipes, to make it completely clear, would you do ONLY the free space or do the entire hard drive? Hi, thanks for that, well, its not really "concert" quality I am after, my current acer old XP laptop is very good really for BBC sound radio, the toshiba C50 is very tinny, I have been looking at Acer's with the i5 processor, would you say that is very good for speed? I have to say my current acer with the core 2 duo T5500 has been EXCELLENT its just that running Chrome browser on the unsupported XP os is now running v. slowly and I would like to replace it with an equivalent good standard laptop, my toshiba is not very high quality but have to have that set up for ebay labels etc., so its not so "busy" as my main laptop - I always use a seperate keyboard & mouse with the laptops. thanks LAPTOPDUNCE

I am going to replace my old Acer Aspire 5633WLMI 120gb laptop with an intel core 2 duo T5500 processor, it is in very good order but it is far too slow for me now that XP is not supported and I am currently using it with Google chrome browser. I am going to put it on ebay as its in great order, with a start price of £10, I am wondering if it will sell?? what do you think? thanks Laptopdunce

I am a bit of a beginner with computers, can do the basics and am currently using a windows XP laptop which is running very slowly, it is using google chrome since the ie browser is no longer updated, I want to buy a decent laptop up to about £400, size of HD is not so imperative to me, but a good sound for listening to radio is. I have a Toshiba windows 8 laptop in another room hooked up to a printer for my ebays but this has very poor audio, what would you suggest I buy for my main laptop? I have been looking at Acer i5 processor laptops, currently one on sale at Tesco for £349 but currently out of stock, would that be a good buy?? thanks laptopdunce
