Ive made the laptop better by going into internet options and doing the reset. Its much better but still is slow at responding on some web pages

What am i looking for in services? My list is huge compared to yours. There are some that are disabled.. Remote registry Routing and remote access Smart card Internet connection sharing Net tcp port sharing service The rest are either auto or manual

It would appear not. It did used to work because earlier in this thread i used it in safe mode and it was much much faster

I tried that last week it disables wireless!

What i have noticed this morning is ive unticked the start up option,appy and ok. restarted the comp. when i go back to msconfig its back to normal start up. Maybe the issue is in start up after all

Updates are all done-took nearly a day! Ive ticked the boxes you suggest but still no wireless!

Ive enabled WLAN but the wireless still doesnt work. Ive gone into computer management and its lusted as automatic. Ive tried to 'start' the service but comes up with an error 1068 saying it failed to start. Im so bored of this computer im just thinking of buying another. Its ridiculous. One thing i will say is its due 100's of updates now. I disabled the updates after a month or two as they came everytime i turned the thing on

with the start up items unchecked its exactly the same, but with system services unchecked I cannot get on the net as the wireless is disabled

ive done the safe mode and its much better.......better by far in fact!

Ah sorry my apologies. Its only slow at browsing,when not connected the other features work ok. There is nothing on the pc to slow it down. I only have two programs installed which were not on it when new which are car information programs-the pc was slow before these were installed. Other than that there are no pictures,music or anything. I will say browsing forums etc is not too bad unless there are pictures or advertisements. If its a plain page with just text its not bad-although still slower than should be. If I open a page say like ebay or amazon then it stops and sometimes brings up an error about not being able to load the page...or if I try to scroll down it just sits still then 10 seconds later catches up

ive disconnected it before and switched off wireless even used it at other peoples houses because I trade the markets. The router I also have to reset several times a week. There are 5 of us in this house and all have ipads,phones,laptops and games consoles so it over loads it now and again I think. Every other device is fine its just this one

Hi there. I tried firefox and google chrome it was exactly the same!

Can anybody help me further with this issue at all?

As for model of laptop its a 15a003sa Compaq. it has HP stamped under it as well.
