Hi about 2 years ago i bought a nec pc everything has been going great with it not a single problem. Well the problem is now i cant use the memory card reader or headphone/mic sockets on the front of my pc. They have always worked in the past, i havent needed them for a couple of months but now when ive come to them nothing. Where as before i put a card in the slot the pc reads it not a problem now nothing doesnt even attempt to read them same with my headphones. Ive gone into my computer where there used to be the list of drives eg the f, h ,g drives or what ever they were called now all ive got there is floppy disk drive A and DVD rw drive D My pc uses vista home priemium 32 bit please help

So bullguards a no no? is any of the free programes worth getting instead? for a tempory measure atleast

from wat i gather from what the bank has said its my debit card details which have been used there sending me out all the info on the past transactions which i have to go through. The idea it was something to do with my computer is just and idea there are possibilites my girlfriend has a habbit of recycling my mail which includeds bank statement without shreading them or anything. my computer is always updated regulary both with anti virus and windows defender and i run scans every week Since the phone call i run scans using Bullguard and windows defender which picked up a couple of minor cookies but nothing more. So ive also run ad adware, spybot and the windows one live online scanner which comes up clean

Hi Ive very recently found out my bank account has been hacked after speaking with a friend he thinks i might have something called a keylogger (means nothing to me) but is there any free programmes i can run that will detect if i have or any other and safely remove them? I dont dare pay for one if some can see my card details going in plz help

Can i just asked i played alot of online games with my last comp and the guys whos buying it plays one i have already installed would it be possible to keep that and all the patchs from that game if i run this programme or will it take that too?

Hi not sure im in the right place but i just bought myself a new computer and im selling my old one to a friend. The thing is i used to do alot of online banking and such on my last computer so i had alot of banking and personal infomation on there. The guy who is buying my old one is abit of a computer expert not that i dont trust him i would just feel more comfortable knowing all traces of that info was removed. Is there any programmes/software or something i can do to remove this stuff? ive gone through my computer deleted what i could find put it in recycle bin then emptied that but someone told me doing that doesnt remove it from my hard drive or something i dont dont know lol plz help :)

I think its a DSL modem it was supplied almost 3 years ago when i went with tiscali and yes all all filters are in place. Ive tried the modem on 2 comps one with windows xp which it works fine not a problem then the one with vista which is causing problems. Ive been reading up that usb modems are having probs with vista so they are reccomending ethernet/router modems but not sure if this is true or not

Hi Ive just bought a new pc which runs vista and im having problems getting connected to the internet. Im with tiscali and use the modem they sent me which is a SAGEM F@ST 800 E2T and ive updated all the divers the said too which would make it run with vista. But it will only connect for a short time then cut off when i try to reconnect I'm getting Error 651 - Your modem has reported an error can any1 plz help?

i will keep you informed and to be honest i never usse the drives for anything. Anyway a big thank you to all that helped i didnt have a clue on anything but you made it all very clear and very easy to understand. also thank you for your patience i know it cant be easy dealing with some1 whos clueless lol but your efforts definatly deserves a donation :). thx again all.

ok the drive are now unpluged no freezing as of yet

i just had to turn the comp of and on so far for 10 mins it has not frozen just check the cd rom drive and it opens

sorry i have no idea how to unplug the power to the drive i take it you mean unpluging it from the case its self?
