  1. Hi Starbucks. many thanks for your reply. Inadvertently I think I have solved my problem during the course of attempting to follow your instructions I came across my download folder and noticed I had downloaded three items from a company called Turbo tools ltd linked to speeding up your computer I have now deleted these and everything seems to be working normally why this should be I don't know. Thanks for your confirmation on the scamming issue and I now know my computer is 64 bit. If I have any further problems I will get back to you and thanks again for your help. Best regards Gerald.
  2. Hi everyone, not sure what is going on here and hope you may be able to help me. First of all may I state that I am not very experienced with computer procedures ok with the basic operations but that's about it. I have a HP 255G3 laptop secured by bullguard internet security and malwarebytes anti malware premium , the unit is approx. 6 months old and is not overloaded with data etc. I have noticed recently a significant slowing down of accessing sites and delays in responding to curser movements, typing words etc. I then received a phone call from an American lady stating that she was phoning from Microsoft to inform me that my computer had been hacked and that she needed to pass me onto one of her colleagues to sort it out, at this stage (rightly or wrongly) I informed her that as I was fully protected and not confident that I was speaking to Microsoft I did not want to pursue the matter any further. I did a 1471 to check the no. which came up as 0080006. Has anyone had a similar experience or can offer some advice as to how I can check this out. Thanks Gerald.
  3. Just like to say hello to everyone and look forward to participating in the forum. regards Gerald.
