1. I've also experienced this, a little conspiracy theory here but I find that after a few WIN10 updates my general CPU and Disk usage gets higher. So windows ten gets more features becomes heavier on your system incrementally while the system stays the same so a loss of speed will be experienced, so I assume. Also not well versed in this my idea may be flawed, or maybe like what apple did to its users in throttling devices to "save batteries". TBH though two years with a pc I think in this day and age is good, programs, games the internet are all getting more and more resource-intensive at an increasing rate. I think the days of having the same setup for a Good few years are long gone.
2. Hi Ken im only saw this post lingering though i should answer incase other people may experience the same thing... The issue disappeared when i turn my cell phone off and on ( i hotspot from it ) the ip changed and that let me get in consistently - I am not sure if i somehow got my ip affected it.... I did some digging around as that did not make sense and what I found was just a barrage of other yahoo issues so i did what any sensible guy would do and moved on knowing even if i solved this one more will surely come... I don't use yahoo anymore its just a host of issues. I am not gmails biggest fan ( I feel its just another google grip ) but its way more trustworthy. ( and to think yahoo could have bought google wonder what the online world would have been like then ). Regards Ragnar
3. Hi Guys maybe this needs a new thread but I recently ( I know ) went to windows from 7. I also use yahoo mail and have a slightly different issue. mine would go to the page and when i clicked on mail would log in as usual. Then at random instances when i go to yahoo mail on my chrome browser and click mail it redirects me back to the same page ( i could this also be cookie related? ) the only way i can fix it is to close chrome down and open it up again, Even removed the cache and still it occurs..
4. Well email can easily be spoofed what i do see here 1 is alot of links to bitcoin and casino type websites which is already a red flag to not touch. There are alot of query type dynamic links and in general way too many links for a email , was this in your spam ? I see the spf, dmarc and dkim has passed. The return path is also off. I wouldn't touch it at all. That bitromax link is a dead giveaway if it where a google email it would never include something like that.
5. Hey Ken been a while anyway I just stumbled back here by accident on a bored day and found this old thread and though how rude of me to not thank you. I ran though my startup programs and removed them bit by bit also I used cc cleaner a general cleanup and a registry cleanup as well as a my dump files which were massive<--- very nice free tool imho. I am not sure between all of that what fixed it because the hardware is still the same... Its been I dunno months since the spikes have happened (y)(y)
6. Thanks alot for this. Its a intermittent fault i goes away for days and comes back , somebody suggested problem with my gui. I tried the safe reboot and it did solve the isuee( atleast i assume ) because upon restarting it was gone again. This is the mess with something that is intermittent so hard to track. I remember while back when got the laptop it sounded like a chopper wanting to take off and kept shutting down, i looked at the logs and saw a thermal something error. So i opened it up and found what i would call a hairball in there , needless to say the heat sink was black , i wonder if that could have caused some hardware issues.
7. Guys i am having a massive issue with my laptop where i am getting blinking icons , and spikes in my cpu usage , i have researched this on the internet , and tried fixes such as removing possible malware . Its very inconsistent and im really at a loss where its coming from , i tried to track it through my resource monitor and have come up with this. Its the closest thing to a pattern that i have found. Any ideas ?
8. I love chrome, well i used to i used to think it was the fastes browser , then i discovered how chrome runs works with cache . For and much of the time actually displays pages that arent 100% up to date, also causing Dns errors that only clear up with clearing your cach . I have no issue moving to Firefox , but i want to know if there is a way to work around this chrome issue
9. Ok guys my last post until a reply i dont want to be seen as spamming , i had the hardrive changed too , i see that that isnt performing up to standard ( 21 percentile) .... Possible Cause?
10. Ok here we go : i Hope you guys can read them , the Asus seemed to perform way better in the test especially on the 3d testing as it has live displays, i did see while it was testing in the testing thread something about slow i/o but when in the report there is nothing . Sorry about the quality i hope its readable that attachemt at the bottom istn but the two ontop are ok
11. Yea sorry about the name , so you dont se any problems on the scans? Lets say i removed the ram myself , i would have to make sure its the one they added , and wuld the bios pick it up by itself that the mempry has changed or do i have to manually change that myself ? Bench mark test ok im doing that next i will post here too. Thanx again
12. Yea good point , i got it back today they said that they couldn't find any faults so they , reinstalled and checked everything , got home same thing , so now i went ahead and did those scans , i dont know why i should be troubled with this , its their responsibility. Is speaking to Asus even a option? i would do that. Here are the scans guys seems i was wrong about the model : Again thanks for your interest in this issue . Just for interest sake here is my old laptop that beats the crap of the acer in everything from 3d rendering right down to its internet speed in every facet the g7 is faster, that cant be right...
13. Hello guys I would have loved to run that scan but i dot hav the laptop right now , i read some conflicting stuff i may have my model numbers mixed up Just thought id inform you the model has f541uA at the end this model has space for 16gb but something about one slot or 8 gb is sodimm ram ( also i saw that some reviws state 12gb as most of you pointed out) Either way somethings off listen to this... i took it back asked the guy what ram he put in? he scratched around and looked for the paperwork , the i asked him what sodimm ram is ( i read a little online ). He didnt have an answer really !! Like h didnt know or was avoiding the question, so i told him that the specs for the model indicate that one slot or th other 8 gb im not sure could only use sodimm ram or possibly 12 gb ram depending on the model ( neither of which you stated was put in) amazingly the paperwork could not be found and he told me he would phone me with the details. I then went to my car fetched my my g7 and placed it next to the asus and showed him how my g7 rapes the asus which is utterly crazy. I said this g7 i bought years ago and it cost half the price the specs are nothing compared to the asus right? He said yeah something definitely isnt right ( employee of the month right?) , i left it there they're going to have a look at it , honestly tho i just want another laptop , il get the ram myself ad get some other guy to set it up , but then he said it would void any warranty. . Last time il be dealing with them.
14. Well this kinda *&^s me off a little i must say, i have no idea im not going to touch anything further , il take it in tomorrow and go and see what they have to say it is 16 and you guys say limit is twelve? something seeems off but its obvious that where the prob is because i cannot possibly foresee this laptop being this slow in factory condition and the only thing changed was ram. Thanks il let you know if i resolves anything
15. Hi guys thanks for you resposes i added 8gb sdram this was advised to me by the sales person, i dont know about the slots joddle id have to check but i dont want o open it in case i decide to return the thing , i even got an ssd external hardrive to keep only programs on the laptop anyway i think i got fluked badly , im actually using my g7 as it is faster and the Asus was slow like this out of the box. The other thing about this pc maybe a clue if my g7 and itv and xeria phone are on the router they all run fine as soon as this asus joins the homegroup it bassically stops all other devices in their tracks with regards to internet usage.
