Thanks, "always show icons" there are no ticks and the three choices are General, View and Search.....no Properties. nor Security.

I right click on Pictures folder then go to properties but there is no Security tag.

Option 2 was interesting...when I ticked the requested box all the pictures in the folder were hidden by a flower so I couldn't identify which picture was which !!!!

It must be...but how do we solve that ? Not a wireless printer. It is an HP Deskjet 1050 all in one J410 series.
