  1. First of all I must thank KENB, for helping me the last time I asked for help. I don't know if this is for you KENB? But here goes. Yesterday morning I was using both my external DVD burner and player. Burner is a LITEON and player is a compact disc re-writable dvd rom. Come yesterday afternoon, when I wanted to use them again, my computer just would not recognize both! There is always a symbol C or D but nothing. I tried the "A NEW DEVICE" from 1 to 0, but still no good. Does anyone know what happened and can it be fixed please?
  2. No, there are none
  3. I've just started using an external DVD burner. I used it a couple of times, but now it does not appear on my computer when plugged in. All I now it's because of code 38! Anyone help please? Dave
  4. Starbuck. I hope you don't mind me contacting you again? Could you tell me if MP4 downloads are stored on the hard drive? I've taken out the hard drive from the computer that didn't work and using an external hard drive device, can now view the files on another computer. But I can't find any of my videos! Could you help please?
  5. Thanks KenB. Through trial and error I managed to find out how. Thanks for all the information you sent.
  6. KenB I've bought a LITEON, which works very well. Can I ask another question? When I plug the LITEON in you go to my pc and there you can see DVD RW. But I can only put one file in at a time, I would like to burn more than one file to a DVD. Is there a way of doing this? I would prefer to use this method so I can watch them on my computer. Thanks
  7. Would you recommend one for me please KenB
  8. KenB It says compact disc re-writable ultra sound dvd rom
  9. Just a cheap thing from China. Could you recommend one please?
  10. Thanks KenB. Still not accepting DVD's! It tells me to load a DVD that's RW, which I do (Phillips) I've noticed on YouTube, that you have to change things on your computer so a DVD can be recognised? When I do put a blanc DVD in the external burner/player, it always classes it as a CD. Hope this help's to sort the problem?
  11. I have an Intel Stream HP. This has no internal DVD player, so I bought an external one. I had to download VLC media player to be able to watch DVD's. But when it comes to burning DVD's, Microsoft does not recognise the disc! What can I do please?
  12. Thank you Starbuck. I'm going to try the recovery disc to start with. Could I ask another question? I'm currently using an Intel Stream, which has no internal DVD CD burner. So I bought an external burner. The only problem is it doesn't read the disc's. It only recognises CD's not DVD's. Would you have any ideas please?
  13. You've been really great Starbuck . Thanks. But still nothing happening! It's not so much the computer, it's the downloads I would like to keep. I'm old fashioned and I wanted to burn videos to DVD. Is there anyway of removing what is downloaded and transferring them to a new computer? Thanks Starbuck
  14. With F2 I get Main Advanced Display Security Boot Exit and F12 Boot Menu
