Ok, i just figured out that 1 of the sticks was faulty...because i now have 1x 512mb in. Sorry the model of my computer is hard to tell...it's made my "Ram computers" (The irony). It runs on Celeron® processor lol. It is an awful pc...and i am taking one of the sticks back tomorrow for a refund. Thanks for the help guys...i guess 512 is all it can take anyway...doubt it would have help 1g like Wolf said. Thanks anyway guys. -

well mate its an old pc, and i had it working with 1...i was on it for about an hour with just 1 The old 1 still works... 1 of the new sticks was working. It orignally had 214mb of ram, I am trying to put in 2x 512. -
Hello guys. I recently bought 2 new sticks of 512mb of RAM for a very old PC. I installed both pieces...the computer beeped continuously. I removed the second one...it worked fine. I tried the second 1 numerous times but the computer just will not take it, even though it is exactly the same as the first. After about the 5th try...it wont even accept the first one now. This is so frustrating! Help would be appreciated Rootman.

Final chance before comp gets smashed.

thanks Hey thanks guys, sorry i havent been on in a while (my pc was obviously going haywire)... My PC has had to go to repair, i got a new graphics card, new PSU, new Motherboard, a new power button and more heat paste.... The problem still lies. For now i am using an old PC but i wish to install more RAM on it until my new PC comes back from the dead...but i will make another post for that lol. Thanks guys btw, and dont worry about this thread anymore, if the PC repair place can't fix it....i will just buy a new comp :) Rootman. -

if it shuts down, sometimes it just turns off in an instant, sometimes it asks if i am sure i want to shut down, displays what is running. If at this point i click cancel it sometimes stays on, sometimes it doesn't. Last night i went to bed, it was fine....i woke up...it will not boot up AT ALL, just turns itself off after a few seconds....i am currently using a friends PC. This is so messed up...it may either be...a motherboard issue, a button issue or a software issue.... i dont know how to fix any of them.... Rootman. -
Hello users and thank you for taking your time to read this post, what follows is a problem which has been baffling me for months, and i have no other place to turn for help! My Pc specifications are as follows: Processor: Intel® Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz Memory RAM: 3.00GB System type: 32-bit operating system# Hardware space: 500GB Windows Vista Home premium Ok, this all started about 2 months ago, my PC randomly shutdown, closing all applications then turning itself off. As i tried to start it back up again it kept turning itself off before the booting screen, and turning itself BACK ON AGAIN without me touching it. It would continue turning itself on and off until it will finally load and either the Windows start-up repair runs...or it actually boots up....it will then work for about 2 days...then do it again. I have had a new PSU fitted, I have tried changing the power cable, i have had a proffessional to clean my fan and replace the heating paste (to eliminate a heat issue).... I have no idea what is wrong! why is it so random...what can i do to stop it! EDIT: Occasionaly, when i sleep, the computer will boot up on it's own and turn on and off as i mentioned before.... Thank you Rootman.

Hey guys it's me again. Ok i bought this PC yesterday, here are the specs: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor speed 2400 500GB Hard drive 3GB RAM Graphics memory: 256mb MB Graphics Description nVidia GeForce 7050mb 256mb I also have windows Vista. I don't know why but my old computer runs World of warcraft better (with higher FPS) when my old computer has these specs: AMD Athlon x2 dual core processor 3800+ 2GB RAM 200GB hard drive Radeon x1300/x1550 series. I know my new comp has better specs. Do i maybe need to update my drivers? All help is welcomed. Thanks.

Ok so from my last thread i rolled back my drivers to their standard form, this was fine and i have no problems with my computer performance. Recently i tried to burn a music CD and it says on my Windows media player "please connect a CD burner and restart the player" after restarting several times i came to realise that perhaps i need to re-update my CD burner drivers. Any help? Thanks (I have windows media 11)

Driver updates gone wrong?
Rootman88 replied to Rootman88's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Thanks Yeah i rolled back my drivers, no problems so far. Ok heres answers to the questions: 1) I know how to use the system restore tool, however when i looked i had no earlier dates to go back to. The earliest was 27th of May (today). 2) I wanted to upgrade my drivers since i havent updated them since i had the comp (a few years back) and i wanted a better gaming performance. Thanks -
Hey guys it thought i'd pop back to this forum since it helped alot last time. Ok i updated my drivers (well tried to) but i have a weird driver named Radeon™ X1300/X1550 series which i couldnt find an update for. So i tried updating using the Radeon™ X1550 series updates which i think has corrupted my system. When i try to use any sort of game it crashes and my comp turns off and i get the blue screen of death. How can i roll back my drivers? (My system restore doesnt have a date earlier than when i updated.) Thanks

Thanks Thanks at the moment i'm running the windows malicious software removal tool (Deep scan mode). When this is done, if it doesnt find anything i will try all three messages listed above. If it does i will get them moved and see how things go. Thanks.
