hey - I completely understand the illegality issue, and get you on that - yeah i'm UK based, Its just I didn't pay a great deal for the unit, and to spend £50 on the OS is a bit much IMO, was maybe hoping someone had a lower cost way of getting a copy. thanks, Craig.

Ok, lemme condense this, Have a Laptop, running on ME, needs to be upgraded to XP - where is the cheapest place to get this upgrade, on like a DL or a CD, or could somebody possibly point me in the direction of a source to acquire a copy FOC?? (as it's not my system I would prefer genuine, but I can live without it.)

what browser are you using?

not sure - could it be to do with your cookies - make sure cookies aren't disabled (not sure how you do this lol) try it under the help menu of your browser - this may be the problem.

have you treid changing the channels of the mice - my logitec will operate on two channells, so there shouldn't be any interferance if you have one on channel 1, and the other on channe l2 - should be able to change this in the mice menu on control panel.

download a program called windirstat (put it into yahoo) and this will show you exactly what is using up the space, and then delete what you can - this should free up some space - the system restore part you may have to leave until the more au fait with pcs come along to help,

i know my dvd player will play either format, and it should say on the front of your burners drive tray what format it records in.

if you are on AOL, then its possibly a case of AOL being rubbish, either buy your own router, which will help, or change ISPs. AOL has this problem where every so often it forgets your existence. re-installing aol (after completely purging the system of it before) as well as cleaning all connections will help, an installing new locations is a quick fix, though it doesnt always work/last.

if she ever comes back and looks at this,. here's some help. No doubt they are broken. if you cannot see any obvious cable damage, its most likely the magnet has stopped moving. having had 2 pairs of creative earphones break on me in a month - (thats £60 up my shirt then!) I would suggest that if the connection is fine and there is no apparant damage, then just get a new set - testing them first on an appliance you know works is the first step, and after you try everything, stick them in the bin. I got a pair of Sennheiser earphones from John Lewis, and must say that they are very good, and not badly priced at all - for a tenner i can chuck them when they break. I had a similar problem with MSN messenger, and the only solution I found was to use a different messenger service, called 'Gaim' (suggested by james :D) after a few months MSN sorted itself, but until then I used messenger through this program. its not superb, but it works. download available from http://gaim.sourceforge.net/downloads.php

LMAO! fyi, if you happen to have a compressor nearby, and want to destroy circuits, place board under the valve on the bottom of the receiver, remove valve, and watch the ice form. alternately, cover PC in lighter fluid, throw match, and watch it burn! anyone else got suggestions for killing pcs??

ah tienemen sq. (sp) you can't find anything about that on google.cn ironically. Big mistake by google - 13000000000000 dollers were wiped off the share price in ONE day after they announced they were cencoring the interweb.
