It does not give out any percentage. It shows checking for updates and some kind of moving bar which looks like its a loading bar. I'm about to give up on fixing this thing. I can't even patch my game, watch shows, and its as though my PC is disabled. I might be sending my old mate down to the technician's for help. I still have to thank you guys for the prompt help you have given me. I'll remember you guys when i encounter a problem again. Thanks !

is it normal for the WIndows Update page to be in the "Checking for updates.." page for 30 minutes ?? It seems to be very long..

Done that. Successfully reinstalled the drivers, BUT the error message Generic Hosts Services has encountered an error and needs to close." has appeared again. After that appearing my Sound Device VIA AC'97 goes missing again. IM SURE THAT THING IS THE CAUSE !! whats going on with that Generic Host thing?

Ever since the problem arose it shows me "No audio device" and every menu related to speakers are greyed out. When the speakers were working it used to show VIA AC'97 Audio Device.. or something like that. no Realtek at all.

I have restored as accordingly, and still there is no sound device detected. But GenericHostServices' error message doesnt pop up anymore. Is my speakers spoilt or is the sound card spoilt?

I cant find any jusched in my Startup tab. What do I do ?

Sorry, I have looked through my restore points and could not find anything related to my Speaker Problem. The latest one was a day ago before the problem started, and it was the day I installed MapleStory. After the second day then the problem arose. Thus I didn't use the restore point.

Dear all, I have also installed the Gigabyte Motherboard Driver. I rebooted my computer and played music and it works fine .. until the error message "Generic Host Services has encountered an error and needs to close." and then i sensed something wrong, i closed the Media Player and tried playing music again. The same message appears "No sound device has been detected." So is the speakers plainly spoilt ? Can someone interpret the Generic Host Services error message ? Whats the connection between these ? thanks for the help..
