  1. Thank you for all the valuable support and advice. I will try to be as careful as possible when cleaning the fans and the heatsink. Btw I have opened up my pc several times in order to install new hardware but never though of cleaning it out.lol.
  2. lol thanks. I just found one on amazon.com. Before I order I will go and look if they have one in the hardware store. thanks.
  3. Lol, foolish question, i know, but where do i get a can of compressed air from?
  4. I did the clean boot and system started up superfast. No the computer doesnt seem slower but the cpu starts noticeably overheating. i am starting to think it's problem with the cooling fan or the heatsink.
  5. No it's not confined to flash sites, it shoots up when I am running scans and multitasking as well.
  6. Lol, good guess. yeah sure, no prob.
  7. It seems ok enough (abt 30%) but the usage stays at 100% when I use applications with which I had no problems before. Even low spec games takes up a lot of the memory. Oh and btw how do u know my real name:confused:
  8. I am really sorry but I hadn't seen Seth's reply and only just noticed when I checked out of curiosity. I reinstalled and still flash sites use up as lot of cpu same as IE. And now I got the same problem when running large applications such as a video converter or games. The safe mode seems to be fine but cant be sure.
  9. That's all right. I thought that a reminder wouldn't do any harm. lol. And btw no inconvenience. As long as I get the thing fixed I will be happy but as they the sooner the better. And once thank YOU.
  10. Any luck in finding what the problem is?

  12. Ok I went through all of the above steps and restarted the computer. The startup speed has improved drastically but the computer still gets frantic when I am using the internet. I checked the cpu usage and the usage is pretty normal when I am off the net but the minute I use heavy flash sites on any browser (safari, firefox and IE), the cpu usage rockets to rediculous levels (85-95%).
  13. Thanks for the reply. I will go through all the steps as directed and post the result. Once thanks for all your help. Going to bed now.lol. So will have to do the scans tomorrow.
  14. Ok the scan is complted and 13 infections were found and quarentined. Here is the cpu usage while watching video on youtube: System Idle Usage - 50 -70 firefox.exe - 20-40 Rest all 1 or 0
