Right an update,day before yesterday it totally failed to boot.It powered up but wouldnt do anything else. I took it to my local pc chappie and he had a good look for me. Turned out there was loads of heat paste all over the cpu chip I think he said which was causing heat transfer across it. Anyway its been fine since I got it back yesterday so fingers crossed.

Ive just looked it System information and it says American Megatrends Inc.P1.10.08/12/2004 Underneath it says SMBIOS vers 2.3 Any help?

Hello, I ran mem test 86 on my pc while I was in bed after work this morning. It was on for about 6 hours. It passed all tests without errors. I reset to boot into windows and all it did was sit and do three beeps.pause and do three beeps again. I switched it off a the psu switch,unplugged the lead put it back in and rebooted and it was fine. Can anyone tell me if this means anything is fried? Its just had some new ram so I hope its not that!,maybe it could be because it was warm? Its never done this before so hopefully its just an isolated incident. Thanks for any advice.

Hi,yeah basically it says "The system has failed to boot several times before.Press F2 to set up or bios will load default in x amount of seconds" It only happens every now and again too.

Hi, I have an AMD Sempron 3000+ with an Asrock K7VT4A Pro motherboard and 2GB of Elixir Ram.Running XP Home SP3. Every now and again (like this morning) it will tell me the system has failed to boot several times and will boot default bios. Its a really strange one. Its been off all night due to me being at work! Ive replaced the CMOS battery and its still doing it. Only every few days though. I'm stumped! Can anyone shed some light? Thanks for looking.
