  3. I hope not its less than 6 months old.:) I will be able to get hold of anouther dvd drive tonight from my neighbour so i will be able to tell if it is the motherboard. if that workds then that does mean that both of them drives are dead. Thx. Stay Frosty :)
  4. nope, none of the above worked for me. I couldnt even get windows vista to run from boot? that tells me the drives are dead. Thank you to everyone for your help. :)
  5. its a strange one, ive never heard of this issue before. Thx for your help though harkin will let you know if i get it sorted. Again thank you :) Stay Frosty
  6. yeah it does all that when i plug it in when the pc is booted and its connected via usb i have just got anouther usb lead from work to see if that could be an issue but wont be able to tell till tonight. no major hardware change apart from a new internal dvd drive and that will not read discs neither. I've tried going going into disc manegement and changeing the external drive from F: to K: and G: etc etc but still nothing worked. forgot to mention im using XP service pack 2, i could do an upgrade to vista thought if that could cure my problem.
  7. hello everyone i have a slight problem with my external LG GSA-E60N DVD,DVD-DL,DVD-RW,CD-ROM player. i recently moved home and yesterday after setting my pc back up i came to install Call of Duty 4 on my pc and it just would not read the disc, my first thoughts were that the drive just didnt like the disc, i also had a spare internal dvd drive so i installed that and tried it on there but the same thing happened. i then tried Dawn of war and it did the same thing on both drives. when i go into my computer it can see that the drives are there and it allows me to open them up but shows nothing in the drive itself like their is no disc in. it was all working fine before i moved home and now its not .. anybody got any ideas on what i can try and do. Thank you. Matt :)
