  1. Hi I've done as you said and it found 583 errors ! There were a few it couldn't repair. I can't attach the log as I am communicating with you through my other PC as I can't connect the laptop to the internet at the moment. Only have it running in safe mode.
  2. XP Media Centre Application errors on logging in Hi thanks for this but I tried it and it's made no difference.
  3. Using XP Media Centre am getting following errors when trying to log in to any user account:- “userinit.exe – Application Error. The Application failed to initialise properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate application” When you clIck OK it just goes to the wallpaper with no menus available. Also get rundll32.exe – Application Error “The application failed to initialise properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate application” Unfortunately no system restore points have been made so I can’t use that method. I have managed to get into safe mode as administrator and have run a registry cleanup application that I have. But it’s made no difference. I went into the Windows error reporting log and found errors for each user that read: “userenv Event ID 1517 Windows saved user Angela registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use. This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account”. Don't have installation CD as it came pre-loaded and haven't managed to get hold of one. Any help/assistance would be greatly appreciated.
