Thanks. I think its a return to Staples job now.I went through the bios options & nothing sticks out as obvious.I do wish these manufacturers checked their machines before sending them out to the paying public.

Found bios now, but no sleep options displayed?I think its a return to shop job.

Thanks , but I do not have any sort of disk with the laptop.I really should have windows vista disk in my opinion.I brought it from Staples. I fear I may have to phone Toshiba or take it back to staples. Trouble is I cannot do anything until the 27th.

My problem, is with my daughters new toshiba L300 satellite laptop.I know it has vista home premium installed.When we switch it on it goes through the routine, gets to the language options then a black screen comes up with all the self checking results on.It then tells us to press any key.The word windows 32 comes up then nothing, the cursor just flashes on & off! Is it requesting some sort of command which I have to type in? any advice would really be appreciated , she wants to get on it like yesterday. Thanks, merry Christmas

Having trouble getting rid of this.I have spyware doctor, which is detecting this & blocking but not removing. Is there an easy way to get rid of this nasty one? Thanks

Hi Jack, Just after I posted my problem i rechecked my pc & lo & behold Oulook loaded ok & I was able to read all my messages & send ok. I have had various problems on the same pc over the last few monts, anti virus 2008 thing, loads of pop ups etc.Other people use the m/c too, so I cant control what foes on sometimes. It seems ok now, but I will save the solution you have kindly given for a next time. Thanks, Andy

Hi, I had a similar problem recntly, constantly recycling. Turned out to be a didgy connection to the motherboard where the hard drive plugs in.

This is a new one for me.Its just started to happen. Basically, when I try to check my outlook emails the program opens slowly , I see the messages , then the egg timer disaapears & Outlook closes instantly. I cannot reopen it unless I reboot again, then it happens again. Have ran avg, malware, spy ware , reg cleaning progs & still there. Help! BTW outlook runs fine on my 2nd pc on the same router. I am having problems with the loading of yahoo , cant access my mail page & also when I search with the google box the results will not load up the relevant websites. I am running AVG 8.0 version & recntly removed the Zlob trojan which infected my m/c. I scan for viruses every day too, but continue to have the same problem.Any ideas?
