  1. Thank you, Randy. I was amazed to discover that on my laptop it says dv6000 and then I looked under the Control Panel and it said dv6500, but when I used the detection tool from HP, it told me I have a dv6646us, which I do remember now is what I bought. Why doesn't my own Control Panel tell me this? I had tried from both the HP and the NVIDIA website, but that was using the wrong model number. However, now I have run across posts that say: Are these two the same? NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M and NVIDIA MCP67M "As far as I know, they are the same. In fact and precisely said, MXP67M is a chipset that can be found on 7150M graphics." So, maybe I should leave it all alone. Maybe for some strange reason, it was set at the factory to say GeForce, but when I downloaded it again, it labeled it the other way????
  2. I have a laptop HP Pavilion dv6000 with Windows Vista. My screen went blank while I was using it and then a blue screen came up that said I was having problems with my NVIDIA GeForce 7150M/nForce 630M graphics card, and then my computer screen shut down before I could read the entire message that filled the screen. After this happenend several times, I researched on the Internet and decided to delete my drivers (which were already updated) and reinstall them. I went to my Device Manager and under NVIDIA GeForce 7150M/nForce 630M I hit Uninstall and and, I guess, deleted it. Because when I was prompted to restart my computer, I did, and then I was given a message that said do you want to download NVIDIA MCP67M? In fear, I did. So, now I am confused. When I go to the NVIDIA website, I cannot download the driver for NVIDIA GeForce 7150M/nForce 630M, and my Device Manager says I have NVIDIA MCP67M. So what I really want to know is, where did that second one come from? and am I using one that is not as good in regards to quality? or is it just the same one with a different name? Thank you so much for any help.... oh, and by the way, I no longer have a problem with my screen.
