We have had a lot of problems with speed of connection and it has been under investigation by BT for 9 months. Today we were told by an engineer that we had uploaded in the region of 4gig in the last 42 hours. We do not normally upload anything but we do download some torrent files and seed the for the same amount of time as they took to download, however we havent seeded anything consciously in the last 42 hrs. The engineer contacted one of their specialists and told us that although we have removed the torrent from Utorrent and sent it to the recycle bin,then emptied the recycle bin. That it is still in the computer and still uploading. As it has been deleted how is this possible? If this is the case then how can we remove the files when finished with them ,to ensure that this cannot happen? Doesnt make sense to me but I am no expert. All the best GS

Right then Wolfey most of that I had already done today including scanning with AVG,Windows Defender,Malwarebytes and Super Anti Spyware and I have now followed through to the end of item5. Its still doing it. If you click on the link in OP you will see exactly what is written in the address bar. I am mystified It has just done it when I have clicked on a site stored in my favourites. But if you look lower on that screen it has a filled in box with the URL and you can click the button next to that,which says" Go to URL" it takes you to the site with no problems. Something is definitely wrong GS

Just recently when I click on links (not all links) instead of taking me to the website I get something like this in the address bar Problem loading page So why is this happening ? What is urlseek20? or vendio? If I get rid of the dross I can get to the site. Hellpp please GS

Oh bugger now it wont play dvds from the dvd drive GS

Have done that and now it downloads the clip to a temp file then plays.whereas before it just went straight to media player and played. So still not quite right?? GS

When clicking on video clips online in mpeg or wmv etc they normally start up in media player. However this does not work now and instead it tries to open a page and displays the error :Cannot display webpage It used to work fine and the only change to my computer is that I have installed VLC player,but that shouldnt affect it,should it?? I need VLC to play the files that media player cannot. Help please GS

It was already loaded on a laptop that I bought secondhand and it was working. Not sure why it stopped but irrespective of whether it is dodgy I am trying to get it out of the laptop so I can install a newer version. GS

Hellllppp. I have a copy of Nero 7 essentials that stopped working so I am trying to uninstall it. Problem is it gets so far and I get the mesage "shell manager database is corrupt or missing" and it wont go any further. Does anyone have an idea of how I can get rid of it. Thanks GS

Thanks wolfey its formatting now and I will set up a temp folder for nero in the new drive I have allocated as F drive. Hopefully that has solved my problem for now. Just one other you may know the answer to. I have recently formatted the kids pc and the page is too wide for the screen. I have tried the monitor controls and they are all set to the minimum size so the problem is I think in the pc . Do you know how I can resolve this. Sorry to ask so many questions GS

The only options it gives me when I click on that part are. New partition Properties Help Thats it ,no mention of format at all GS

Tried that and right click on unallocated does not give me the option to format. And I cant see anything else that even allows me to see this part of the drive. I would prefer not to have to format everything and start over if poss. I take it that it is impossible to remove the partition without formatting the lot? GS
