This could be a harmless file, but extension "HAX" has me worried. It's a known word for cheats in games. It's in a file which has alot of .WAV files in. Anyone know what this file extension is? tmpwave.hax when scanning it for viruses it disappeared.Any help will be great,Thanks,Chris

Router? Personally i would Block Sites/Ip's through a routers software. This can block out specific words and without any direct software less likely to be tamprered with. A router can be bought reasonably cheaply but not all routers provide this service. Depends on what your willing to pay. I have no experience of software versions however only blocked sites in a busness enviroment.

Hi All, I have been putting up for sometime with an extremely noisy Fan. Expecting my computer to crash and die i have backed everything i need up. However it refuses to die. So i'm thinking that it may just be the fan being a pain. It seems to Speed up then slow down Speed up then slow down Speed up then slow down etc. Especially when playing games. I have left the cover off of the computer to check it's getting enough air flow and moved it out from under my desk. Anyone have any ideas. all help will be appreciated.

The App is varied each time as i have the Realtek sound manager or whatever it's called installed. But have tried playing sounds in games, Media player, real player, itunes nothings sounds right. How do i reduce the quality of sound. Any ideas? Sorry i have left this open i forgot about it to be honest. I was ill for a month and it slipped my mind.

Hi, First of all i hate access but i need to use this for my course. and i have had to make a very basic access database which has spiralled out of control and is now more complicated that i intended. The basic specification for the task is: Create an access database which will help the IT staff at your business to manage there jobs easier. The parts in red are a summary of what i've previously written incase my more in depth explanation is me talking rubbish. My Issue: I have implemented the Create email tool too my database which will send information to a seperate table to my main table. So i have 2 tables. Main and sub. (Sub filled in by email) I Have also created a form to show all tasks in my main Table. In this form i want to be able to view and edit my Sub Table. I attempted to add a subform which worked. But the view is not very pleasing to the eye and you view all records instead of one at a time. I have 2 forms. Main and Sub. I want to be able to view the records of the sub in the main form. What i have done is designed a more pleasing look and copied and pasted only the design into the main form. Then linked the control source too a hidden subform of the sub table. Added new fields and linked it too a hidden subform of the subtable. Hope your still with me. This works fine for the first Record in my sub form. But i am unable to scroll through the rest of the records in the sub form. as any button i add controls the main form. if i add a button to control the new fields it controls the main forms instead of my new fields. Hope this makes sense. if possible to avoid relationships i would greatly appreciate it as i have managed to work around these for my access life. And intend to venture there when i have more time and a big book telling me how. Thanks for any respomses in advance. Chris

Resolved I know this is an old issuer but i have found a resolution. Not sure of the reason why it happened but this is how to fix incase anyone else has trouble.go in RUNtype: netsh winsock resetAnd tadaaa it runs a little cmd command and fixes it.This upset me that it was so easy :( but it is fixed :) Thanks for everyone that helped

Ok so i'm nearly there, is it Possible to embed this into my form so i have a text box Which will Edit my criteria and a button to press to run the query. This will mean i don't have to do the query manually everytime. something like i have done below. _________ [_Criteria_] [!]

Thanks for this information. And the Office Training site is sure to help me in the future. However i'm not sure using Queries is what i'm looking to do. Either that or i'm doing it wrong. If i give some information on what my database is trying to do. Basically i have created a database to help me manage my money. I add a new entry on my form everytime i owe someone money. This then adds it to my main table. Each time i add a new payment it gives that payment an ID number. Which is displayed in a subform on my main Form. I can then see who i still need to pay. no matter what ID i'm on. But what i would like is so when i'm looking at my Form i can say go to ID ??. And my form will then display this ID with all the details. Hope this makes sense. It doesn't too me. Access make me cry. :confused: The search box on the navigation bar at the bottom worked originally. I could type in go to Record ?? and it would jump to that record. But now i have deleted some records it's not in synch and therefore doesn't work.

Hi all, I am just playing around with access 2007. But i am struggling now. I am looking to add a very simple search box to my form. All i want it to do is to search an Auto number Field. This Field is my Primary Key aswell. I am very new to Access so as basic instruction as possible would be nice. Thanks in advance

it's a standalone PC. Hi, I went to log onto my computer today and suddenly my password doesn't work. hmm.... So i try and old password from about a month ago. and it works Bigger Hmm.... So i log on and all seems to be well and then change password and all works fine. Now is it possible that my computer automatically did a system restore? if so is there a way of tracking this? This has happened to my boss before and we had to run an antivirus software to remove it, But to run the software i had to run it off of a USB memory stick. This then posed the problem of how to access the USB memory stick and i thin k i did this by Ctrl+Alt+Del but on work computyer can't confirm this.Hope this helps at all.

Realtek audio usually have a Control Panel icon - have you had a look at the settings in there? When i last reviewed these setting all seemed to be in order Also, again in the Control Panel, Sounds And Audio Devices, over to Audio, is your Default Playback Device the Realtek Audio? yes This is what's Bugging me the Most, Sound is coming out But it's just not right if someone speaks in a film there voice doesn't sound right or music sounds different. If there was no sound i would by a new soundcard straight away but as sound is present i'm confused

Hi All, [Win XP Home edition, 2gb Ram, 1.2gb dualcore (i think)] My computer is fitted with a Realtek Sound card. I at first thought it was a real beast had 6 slots in the back and 2 in the front next to the USB which was cool and when i plugged anything in it new exactly what slot and guessed what it was. Was running fine. Now after a long time without any use. (god knows why i disconnected speakers) sounds appears to come out muffled and wrong. tried different speakers headphones and all slots and with no improvement. Searched for latest drivers and all up to date. Is my sound card broke or am i missing something? Sorry for lack of information on my computer at work will update later if needed.

Typical IP I have found with my limited experience with routers that the IP for them tends to be: 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 With the username: Admin and the password: Password or Admin If this is the case with yours i suggest changing it to protect your internet connection. Once on your router you should be able to find the WEP key. P.S. It may need to be hardwired to the Router to connect using an ethernet cable. Hope i have helped.

You say you are playing online games but i can only assume with your specs that these are browser based. I would expect that the reason your computer is crashing and freezing is not going to be the answer you want to here "I think it's time to buy a new computer" If you upgrade your RAM you are only going to find your Graphics card isn't up to scratch, and then find your prcessor isn't. (not nessarily in that order) i hate to say it but i would suggest it's time to let go and put your computer to rest. sorry. However if you don't expect to want to buy a new computer you may be able to find some ram cheap on EBAY but can't see you buying it new sorry.

Common Nero problem Hi there, After a search on the tinternet i have found that this seems to be a common problem found within Nero. And for a resolution i can only suggest you remove this from your startup programmes if it opens when you start up. this can be done by going to: Start -> All Programs -> Startup -> and delete Nero from there. This is not the best resolution but will stop it openeing on startup and will leave your computer happy to do what it wants. Then when you want to use Nero Close what you can and cross your fingers. This should help you out untill someone with experience with Nero can help you but personally i don't use it. Hope i helped

This is a Sony Vaio Laptop related issue with Vista :(. I Have a switch on the front to turn wireless off then on again.Sorry for making 2 posts but thought i might aswell test you as this has been seriously bugging me.My laptop was working no problems connecting to the network. Then one day i turn on my laptop it picks up our network and then says can't connect. This is strange as i can view the network. I can turn off the router and it dissapears turn it back on and it re-appears.

Hi Again all, My company have just Bought a new terminal server (WOhoo a new project) but we are limited with our knowlege (A.K.A. Everything went wrong on the first day) We had all our users log in fine no problems. They went to access the database and it wouldn't open (uhoh) Issue fixed by an outside source. Then someone says "I Can't Print" and now we're stuck.My question: Is it possible to print to a printer in a remote seesion. i can view the printers status by entering the IP in the Browser window (10.0.0.6) if it is a possible how?Cheers.
