Waiting to buy a new or used GPU now. But for some reason my local shops don't carry any! Wonder why that is!!!!!!! ;) Will have to order when from the net when I get a chance and win some money!

Thanks for all the offers of help guys, but it appears to be in vain. Managed to run chkdsk on the hard drive and it says the are "one or more unrecoverable problems" on the drive. Tried and complete restall of windows and that says the disk is not compatable with an install now. Think I shall cut my loses and strip out the cards and the other drives and let the old system die. Bah humbug!

Thanks. Ive tried to boot it in safe mode and the same thing happens. Resets as soon as the 'Kitt light' stops moving.

No. It just resets it self most of the time. It seems to happen at the point when its about to switch from the XP screen to the desktop mode. The only thing I get is the select which mode of Windows you want (safe etc). Tried loading different BIOS settings, including the fail-safe, but no change. Just seems to reset at the sime time each boot!

Yeah. Used a 610 and my 500w on it, and same trouble with both. But I will buy a new one tomorrow as both are old now. Will report back........

No. Unfortunatly two computers failed within days of each other!

Hi all. My old shuttle PC is playing up. When it boots up, it gets to the XP loading screen before crashing and re-starting? Is this a problem with the Hard-drive? Or something else? Any advice please?:)

If anyone can help then please do... I built a computer a few years back from a Asus K8V MOBO with a Saphire Radion 9800se graphics card. All had been fine up until a few weeks back when it suddenly cut out as if it just lost power in a instant. But would turn back on and re-boot instantly. This happened a few times over a month or so. Then it died one day and wouldn't boot up at all. All the lights come on for the hard-drive, dvd and the fans work but the monitor does not seem to pick up any signal from the graphics card (the green light on the monitor comes on, before entering 'idle' mode after a few seconds!). I have taken the bottom out and cleaned out any dust. Removed the battery. Made sure the connections are still firmly connected. But still no change. So I was wondering if its the mobo that has gone completly, or maybe the graphics card has fried! Or maybe something my limited knowledge hasn't thought of. As its an old friend (and Im skint!) I would rather not replace the whole thing. Any insight guys?
